Adding to the visibility of 500 fields, we would like to suggest that the fields be connected to the specific material type that is displayed in Vega. So the 520 field for an audiobook will be displayed when the user clicks the audiobook, and the physical copy will display the 500 fields from that entry, and so on.
For example, we've noticed that the content in an invisible 520 field will generate search results in certain situations. For example, a search for "Patricia Cornwell" will produce a few e-audiobooks by Chris Carter because Patricia Cornwell is mentioned as a comparision to Carter in the e-audiobook's 520 field. However, Vega displays the 520 field from another version of the book where Cornwell isn't mentioned at all. From a user's perspective it's difficult to see why the search results for Carter were included at all. We imagine it's even more difficult to know why a certain result is being produced if one is searching for a more general term, rather than a specific author.
