  1. When looking at records in our catalog that have non-Roman vernacular script included in the 880 fields, it does not appear in the order in which it would best serve our patrons. I have included screenshots to illustrate how we purposely have the original language/vernacular script displaying in the 245 field so that it displays in the Title in brief results lists, and on the receipt and notices when patrons check items out for optimal patron service. A patron that has signed in on the main Vega site or any collection site should remain signed in when linking to another collection site (unless the library has specifically limited sign in to an individual site). Currently, when an authenticated patron clicks to view another collection site, they lose their authentication. Patrons are not aware that they are on a completely separate site and are then confused when clicking on "My Bookshelf" does nothing.   3. Items that have zero item records but have Polaris SHRs on "Not currently Received " status show that they are "on shelf" at the branches with the SHRs even though there are no items at any of the branches. This had lead to patrons coming in looking for standing orders/ serial titles etc. that are not there.

  7. We were able to do this is Encore/WebPAC using scoping and the location codes. This is a critical feature that Vega is missing for Sierra customers, please bring this functionality back.

  8. We would like for Vega to allow specifying a statistics group w/Sierra REST API requests similar to what the III mobile app does.

    Vega has never sent a statistics group with Sierra REST API requests (ex. renewals) and the current behavior is that the request is logged under statistics group 0. We only learned of this - up until recently, the requests were actually falling under the stat group assigned for our Classic WebPAC web transactions.

    We would prefer keeping stat group 0 for issues/errors (bad login used for SDA, i.e., no locations served assigned) vs. certain Vega transactions.

  9. Recently this was fixed in Vega intentionally, however this auto-filling used to save our staff time in their weekly tasks. Ideally when you select a showcase, the title would be auto populated into the 'Showcase block title' box. Instead, it remains unchanged from the previous showcase. In the page preview, the showcase itself successfully changes (the books reflect the new selection), but the title doesn't update. This means our staff must type in the title each time.

  10. Currently, addresses in the Library Info widget wrap text, as opposed to having line breaks like a proper address. I.e. in the images, the one labelled "Carbon edit" is how we want it to show up, but it shows up as seen in "Carbon widget". Additionally, words are also wrapping when they shouldn't be in other areas, as seen in the image of "Keg River widget". We would like this to display in the same way that it looks in the editor.

  11. Many Discover sites have two URLs:

    • Site URL (sitename.region.iiivega.com)
    • Custom URL

    For example, ours are:

    • berg.na4.iiivega.com
    • search.bccls.org

    We would like a true redirect to exist from iiivega.com to the custom one that is fully supported by Innovative and to have all activity such as login sessions persist, so there is a seamless transition.

    While some libraries have customized this themselves to get it to work, we would like it to exist as an option in Vega Admin that is fully supported out of the box.

  13. We have a patron request to simplify the number of location and availability icons. Patrons are often confused and upset by the icons. They are upset at being confused, and eating up their time. The in-house availability icon is too small and gets lost on the page. The larger, initial icon causes a lot of confusion with seniors, parents, infrequent library uses.

  14. In Vega Discover, when executing a passthrough search, the external link icon is used as a button. This UI is confusing to patrons, who are expecting the catalog name to be the link or looking for a button that looks more like the other buttons on the page.
    When the passthrough search only has one option, the option is a link, and that behavior is preferred.   17. Currently there are two options for passthrough sources, one to display for everything and the other to display for unavailable titles. We would like an option to display for only items not found. Our policies are that for new titles holds cannot be placed outside of our consortia for 6 months and if the option for a passthrough source was displayed, the request would be rejected. Displaying the option allows for an unrealistic expectation for the patron that they can get the material from elsewhere.

  19. Please work with libraries to determine a way to add an "on order" facet. We ingest all bibliographic records before we receive the physical copies. Library users can also place holds on these "on order" bibliographic records. Library users want to distinguish between "recently received" by the library and "recently ordered" by the library.

  20. The planned/upcoming feature (as of January 2025) to add the ability to filter My Bookshelf lists by item availability is a nice addition. However, in looking at the preview, staff have expressed concerns that some patrons may find the carousel display of featured available titles too much, as a common theme we hear in feedback about the My Bookshelf feature in general is that there is too much scrolling and clicking involved to navigate it.
