  1. In Leap, when you edit the 008 field by typing in the field directly, instead of opening the editing box, the position of the subfields is corrupted. The ability to edit the 008 field directly works correctly in the Client, and is an important, time-saving feature. Common edits include adding an 'a' for illustrations in position 18 or adding a second date in positions 11-14.

  2. Currently the POLI record ID is only visible as part of the url in the browser. It would help staff to more easily differentiate between multiple POLIs for the same title if the unique ID was included in the POLI header and as a column in the PO.

  3. Libraries that are configured to use pickup areas such as lockers, drive-up windows, etc, need to be able to see the pickup areas via the Request Manager's "Held" view. This will help libraries distinguish and manage items that are on the library's holds shelf and those that have been placed in the pickup locker.

Currently, in the patron's holds view, either the pickup branch or the pickup area are displayed in a column, no matter the status of the hold. This column of information is also available in the Pending view of the Picklist. See attached. Please bring this information…

  4. It would be helpful to be able to select all permission groups in a staff account and delete from PolarisSA. This exists in the client. When a staff member changes positions, we copy the new set of permission groups from an existing account, but first we delete all their existing permissions in case they have something they will no longer need. In PolarisSA, this requires deleting each permission group individually.

  5. We'd like to see the date of dated notes be displayed on search results, in a record set, and also available as criteria in a Simply Report search. We'd like to use this tool for things like specific waiver expiration dates that do not coincide with patron expiration dates, among other things. By displaying the date in the search results we'll be able to quickly take a bulk action based on dates.

  6. Currently, in the desktop client, when opening a checkout window and entering a patron's barcode, if the selected patron has blocks, a window pops up and prompts the user to continue or cancel the interaction. This is not present in the checkout workflow in Polaris Leap, so it is possible for circulation staff to miss important information if they do not open the "Blocks" button before every interaction. Is it possible for an optional feature to be added to notify circulation staff about patron blocks before a transaction?

  7. Currently, Leap will surface any potential duplicate accounts when you go to save a patron record based on the configured criteria. Unfortunately, it's not particularly actionable and, while it is nice that you can click the other account names to pull up the full record, it requires a lot of back and forth to confirm information on one account or another before performing an independent Merge action... which is to say that most staff aren't likely to perform an account merge in the moment and probably won't come back to it later... I think this could be remedied by allowing…

  8. There are times when staff will have a split screen when working in a patron account (ex: puling patron account info to fill out a separate form), but with how the screen looks in that function, it can be difficult to navigate. Particularly because the left hand menu gets interlaid over the information fields. Ideally, the image on the screen would adjust with the size of the screen- allowing for a (smaller version) of the full screen to be viewable or at least the ability to scroll over or down more easily.

  9. Polaris 8.1 introduced Bulk Changs within the Request Manager. However, when a bulk change is made, the only verification the user receives is a message that tells the user how many holds were changed. It would be beneficial (and would follow Polaris' bulk change practices) to include the results in the Background Processing function.

  10. While Selfcheck Item Blocks, Patron Blocks, and the Patron/Material Type table rules can be edited and applied at any organizational level, the Selfcheck Material Types table appears to only be editable from the system level. In the PolarisSA, it is only available at the system level. In the client, it can be edited from any org, but the changes apply across the system. This is an area where there are likely to be different requirements at the library or even branch level, it would be very helpful to be able to adjust it as needed.

  11. Currently, the new Reports & Notices inside Leap works great, except that it will only export to PDF.

Now, you can change the URL manually, swapping out PDF for EXCEL, but that's 1. a little tedious and 2. a little confusing for some of our staff.

It would be better if, like the staff client and SSRS, there was an option to select which format you want the report in.

  12. Enable the pick list to prioritize filling holds in floating collections from branches where the number of items on the shelf at that location is the highest and/or over the load limit for that collection.

  13. Currently, when checking in, if you have the barcode box selected, you can click Enter on the keyboard to RFID scan. But, when you have to print a receipt, even if you click Enter to just choose yes, the focus doesn't go back to the barcode box so you have to mouse back over.

This is a minor but constant annoyance. In the desktop staff client, F9 was the keyboard shortcut to trigger RFID scans, so it didn't matter what part of the app was in focus.

  14. It would be useful if Leap had an equivalent for the following client functionality:
Right click on bib search results to see a preview of the record. This is a time-saver when creating new serial holdings records and when placing holds in cases where titles may be similar.

  17. Blocking a patron from being able to place holds when holds unclaimed reaches a set limit/threshold within 6 months would be beneficial. There is a great deal of staff time and financial resources that gets wasted when items on hold shelves never get picked up and checked out. The block could auto-clear after a set time period.

  18. Miscellaneous invoices are created and used to pay for materials that are not linked to bib records. These invoices always need to have a Supplier record chosen for our finance purposes. Misc. invoices can be saved and payed without a supplier, however, Polaris always gave a reminder prompt if one is not chosen. In LEAP there is no reminder. We would like the same prompt to be added to LEAP. Making these invoices happens infrequently for some staff, so the reminder is helpful.

  19. We use Microsoft Edge for Leap, and use Edge's password manager to remember the Leap login password.

When staff open a patron record and reset a patron's password, the browser thinks we are resetting the password for Leap and asks if we want to update the Leap login password (see attached screenshot). Staff sometimes click "Update" on this prompt, not realizing that this is changing the stored login password for Leap. Staff are then unable to login to Leap the next day because the browser populates the Leap login page with the wrong password.

This popup should not be appearing…

  20. Enhancement Request: Add the ability to mark a Picklist Pending item as “Not Found” while keeping the item in a pending status.

    Current Challenge:
When staff are unable to locate an item on the Picklist Pending report, there is no way to indicate that a search was completed and the item was not found. As a result, staff cannot easily communicate to follow-up staff that the item requires a second search.

While the Ask Later feature exists, it is not an effective solution for this scenario because it removes the item from the local Picklist Pending list and places it…
