Leap: MARC Import profile should select default file
In the staff client, we can set a default file for a particular import profile. When that import profile is used, the file is already selected and we don't have to search for it. We'd like this same thing in Leap, but currently aren't able to set a default file and have to search for it every time.

Allow deleting fields with specific data and deleting duplicate fields in Bib Bulk Change
Current bib bulk change does not allow deleting fields with specific data or deleting duplicate fields. For example, we can only delete the first instance, last instance or all instances of a MARC tag but we cannot delete a tag that contains specific data. This means in our consortium when weeding electronic resources like Kanopy for one library and not the others, we cannot tell Polaris to delete the 856s that contain one library’s URL and not the 856s for other libraries. We have to export the records out of Polaris, use MarcEdit to delete the 856 for the library…

Place hold on bib from find tool or record set
It would be useful to be able to select a bib record from a record set or from Find Tool results and place a hold from there. Possibly add this function to the More Actions menu.

Add the ability to schedule bulk updates
Periodically we might need to update a large number of records. Like changing 10,000 item records to not display in PAC. When we have done that during the library hours it negatively impacts response time. What would be desired would be an option to schedule the update for after hours.

Add "Mark Item Missing" to the Actions Menu
It would be useful to have a "Mark Item Missing" selection available in the "Actions" menu for Item Records. Not only would this be more convenient for staff who are unable to locate an Item that was not on the Picklist than navigating to the Details page and manually changing the status there, but hopefully this could be implemented in such a way that staff don't need the Item Records - Modify Header - Cataloging permission just to mark an Item Missing.

Find Tool Customization
Currently there are a lot of search options that many of our staff do not use within the search tool. I would love a way to customize this per user either to have favorites that float to the top or a way to suppress options that can still be quickly revealed for those extra rare use cases.

Allow us to change Circ Status to Withdrawn without checking the item in first.
It can be confusing when staff look at the history for an item and it says it was Checked in/Available and then it shows it as Withdrawn. This happens when we are preparing bills and we need to withdraw an item with the Circulation Status of Lost/Damaged/Replacement cost before we can bill the other library. It would be nice to open the Item Record for the specific item and declare it Withdrawn. I would suggest that a BIG RED BOX pop up and say "YOU ARE GETTING READY TO DECLARE THIS ITEM WITHDRAWN. IS THIS WHAT YOU WANT TO DO?" …

Add save option to "close without saving" pop-up
In Leap, when item or bib records are closed after edits have been made, the warning pop-up the options are to close without saving or to cancel the close action. In the client, (and in Leap patron records) the pop-up includes an option to save & close, which is probably the intended action most of the time.
Having to click to cancel the close, then click to save, then click to close again, is a lot of extra steps.38 votes -
Clearer indication of errors in background processing
In Bulk Change and Import, the process can complete even if individual records could not be updated (because they are locked or for some other reason). It would be helpful if the errors were made more obvious upon completion of the process, possibly through adding a column to the Background Processing table to indicate how many records were not successfully modified. This would indicate to staff that they need to open the report to find the issues. Even better would be a succinct error report.

Default bib & item records to read-only in LEAP
Create the ability to default to view-only when opening bib records and item records in LEAP. It is a major issue for acquisitions and cataloging staff importing MARC files or doing bulk edits to item records when someone else with edit permissions is just looking at a title or copy. The specific record affected doesn't even pop-up to let you know about it, instead you have to go check a separate report. Leap: cancel from POLI workform
In the client, a POLI can be cancelled from the PO, POLI view or from within the POLI workform. In Leap, it can only be cancelled from the PO, POLI tab. Adding the ability to cancel from the POLI workform would reduce steps and reduce the likelihood of staff selecting the wrong POLI to cancel. This would help with the transition of tech services to Leap.

Retain record set filter after removing a record
Currently when you use the filter field to narrow down the records in a record set, your filter is lost if you select and remove one of the records. It would be helpful to retain the filter.

Apply sort to all records in record set
Just as bulk change applies to all the records in a record set (whether they are all loaded or not), sorting should apply to all the records, not just the ones that are initially loaded.

Allow library to exclude certain material types from Claim Return function
Polaris' claim return function is great for locally-owned items but is problematic with INN-Reach. We are constantly reminding staff NOT to use Claim Return for INN-Reach items because it can break transaction links but they continue to do so. If system admin allowed us to exclude our INN-Reach and WorldCat material types from Claim Return and Claim Missing Part functions, it would reduce errors significantly.

Leap Picklist does not retain Filtered results when using the located option
The Leap Picklist has the option to filter the results by collection and other values to limit the display to a manageable number. However when you interact with one of the results such as marking it as Located, you lose the filtering. The desired improvement would be to maintain the filter as actions are taken until you clear the filter.

Add "Days Past First Available" to Item Bulk Change Options
The item hold setting option, "Days Past First Available," was added in Polaris 6.4. This hold setting is not currently included in item bulk change options and should be added in.

Libraries who want to begin using this feature cannot currently bulk change existing items to use this setting (or, if already using, change the existing value). All other item hold setting options can be bulk changed. For parity, the "days past first available" should be added as a bulk change option as well.40 votes -
Save and Action items in bib MARC workform (Leap)
The MARC views for most full bib records are longer than the screen and require scrolling when editing. It would be helpful if the Save (and other important actions) either stayed available at the top of the page (as they do in the compare tool) or were repeated at the bottom of the record. This would save having to scroll back to the top of the record to select Save, Duplicate Check, etc.

View titles when comparing bib records
Right now when comparing bib records, the tabs all show the bib control number, which at a glance are simply not useful, especially if you have brought up multiple records. I would love for the display tabs at the top to have an option to display the title.

Retain load-all after making changes in a record set
Provide an option to retain the load-all after making changes in a record set. Currently if you load all, then make a change, it reloads the limited set of records.
