  1. The little “sprite” helper icon is cute, but the text she brings up to help the patron find call numbers includes the sentence “Click the map to find it at the library." and there isn't a way to edit or remove this text.

  2. Magazines borrowed directly from Overdrive show the confusing resource for title result instead of the magazine issue itself. An extra step of Get Issue is required to show the issue. This appears to be covered under the Vega Product portal - Overdrive Magazines. However that is listed under the Later category. Monarch is asking if this could be expedited due to the confusion it is causing to staff and patrons.

  5. This is a combination of 2 ideas: Patrons would like to share lists they've created, and some patrons like to "Follow" others. We could create a new world of library "influencers" such as what is on social media, by having "Library Influencers" - those with over x number of followers. Patrons could select who they want to follow, and lists could be shared over social platforms.

  6. At present, we employ code adjustments in our customized header to reduce padding/spacing across Vega Discover's homepage. It would be highly beneficial if there were built-in options within Vega Homepage themes or experience settings to directly control and minimize this spacing. For reference, I've attached a screenshot showcasing our customized control with yellow highlights compared to the default spacing highlighted in magenta.

Patrons are not finding the latest popular titles. patrons want to searc forJohn Grisham and immediately see the most "currently" relevant title- the one everyone is looking for, the one people are talking about and want to get their name on. Maybe it isnt even published. In Encore this is the first title you see, in Vega you wont find it for a bit.

    Relevancy must consider date of publication over the number of copies.

  10. In a large consortia the locations with smaller collections are not showing up. Only 40 sites show. This means the large libraries with more content are always displayed, and the big sites always get top billing. Our little librarys deserve the same exposure (maybe more). In the location facet all libraries should be listed if the result set includes content from their collections. Locations should be listed alphabetically and not by the number of items in the set.

  11. Currently only one account has the ability to make administrative changes to the Vega Discover site. It would be valuable to have at least 2 accounts to ensure that libraries are in compliance with security standards and not sharing accounts when the primary account holder is out and to split the role as needed for more efficient workflows.

  12. Some Syndetics content links out to the main Vega collection instead of the collection that is currently being searched. For Consortia this will create patron issues since each member has their own collection.

Previously, if someone placed items on hold but wanted to suspend the hold into an inactive status (to reactivate by a certain date -- i.e. July 10, 2023), they could specify the date in their holds list. In Vega Discover, there is no option to suspend the hold until a certain date. A patron can only freeze the hold until they select unfreeze. Would there be a way to have both options (Freeze and inactive status with a specific date)? I know that patrons who are on vacation until a certain date appreciate selecting an exact date for the hold…

  17. If a patron has borrowed an item for which the bibliographic record or all attached item records are suppressed, NO title information appears in the patron's Checkouts in My Bookshelf. Instead, an annoying message appears stating that the title is 'unavailable' (we changed it to state that the title details cannot display at this time). This happens also with our ILL titles and our Quick Picks (Express titles) that are from our browsable collection! Searching by call# has always been available to staff and patrons and though we've only been live a short few days, staff have already experienced the need to search by call# (a patron brought a call# to staff and staff had to go into Sierra to find the title they were referencing). Our call#s are stored in the item records and we would like to be able to search by call#.

  19. Vega Homepage Layouts are an excellent way to communicate with our patrons based on spotlighting showcases, new collections, as well as upcoming programs.

    Although this takes a lot of manual intervention whenever a change needs to be made. We'd love the ability to schedule Vega Homepage layouts for future months. Example: Saving Monthly Vega Showcases based on our libraries future focused campaigns (Summer reading, poetry month, heritage months, etc.).

  20. Please add the ability for libraries to add their own permission groups with specific level of controls set by administrators, or build more granular permission groups. Currently, administration level access is required to do many of the features explained to us for showcase approves and Vega Homepage displays.

    We do not want to give all of our librarians "admin" level and "staff" is not high enough to make our day to day work possible.
