  2. Blocking a patron from being able to place holds when holds unclaimed reaches a set limit/threshold within 6 months would be beneficial. There is a great deal of staff time and financial resources that gets wasted when items on hold shelves never get picked up and checked out. The block could auto-clear after a set time period.

  3. Miscellaneous invoices are created and used to pay for materials that are not linked to bib records. These invoices always need to have a Supplier record chosen for our finance purposes. Misc. invoices can be saved and payed without a supplier, however, Polaris always gave a reminder prompt if one is not chosen. In LEAP there is no reminder. We would like the same prompt to be added to LEAP. Making these invoices happens infrequently for some staff, so the reminder is helpful.

  4. We use Microsoft Edge for Leap, and use Edge's password manager to remember the Leap login password.

When staff open a patron record and reset a patron's password, the browser thinks we are resetting the password for Leap and asks if we want to update the Leap login password (see attached screenshot). Staff sometimes click "Update" on this prompt, not realizing that this is changing the stored login password for Leap. Staff are then unable to login to Leap the next day because the browser populates the Leap login page with the wrong password.

This popup should not be appearing…

  5. Enhancement Request: Add the ability to mark a Picklist Pending item as “Not Found” while keeping the item in a pending status.

    Current Challenge:
When staff are unable to locate an item on the Picklist Pending report, there is no way to indicate that a search was completed and the item was not found. As a result, staff cannot easily communicate to follow-up staff that the item requires a second search.

While the Ask Later feature exists, it is not an effective solution for this scenario because it removes the item from the local Picklist Pending list and places it…

  6. In the staff client, we can set a default file for a particular import profile. When that import profile is used, the file is already selected and we don't have to search for it. We'd like this same thing in Leap, but currently aren't able to set a default file and have to search for it every time.

    Idea Value
This would prevent having to search for the exact same file every time when importing. It would save time, is more efficient, and already works well in the staff client.

  7. We just were made aware that for patrons who are set up to receive mailed notices, that long overdue items are not automatically marked as Lost as other items are- they will only be marked as Lost and charged to the patron AFTER you run the Billing Notices. This is not something we were ever made aware of and only were told when we happened to notice a patron had items with a due date in 2024 on their account. This feels ridiculous and like an unnecessary step in an otherwise automated process. My library does not mail out billing…

  8. In the desktop client, we had searches sorted by Pub Date then Author. We can sort them in the Find Tool, but clicking the star to save as default settings does not save the sorting preferences for next time.

  9. It would be very helpful to have an option to view Import Reports for both bibliographic and authority record imports as a spreadsheet, as well as the existing PDF.

This is mostly true for the records (and associated errors, warnings, and messages) themselves, rather than the more general import information (duplicate detection criteria, MARC validation rules, etc.). This would be helpful for quickly flagging errors, duplicates, and other areas that need attention without having to scroll through a lengthy report.

  10. The item hold setting option, "Days Past First Available," was added in Polaris 6.4. This hold setting is not currently included in item bulk change options and should be added in.

    Idea Value
Libraries who want to begin using this feature cannot currently bulk change existing items to use this setting (or, if already using, change the existing value). All other item hold setting options can be bulk changed. For parity, the "days past first available" should be added as a bulk change option as well.

  11. It would be helpful if the bib duplicate check popup had an option to open the records in a Compare window. Currently staff have to do a separate search for the potential duplicate records to be able to closely compare them and/or copy data from one to another, then redo the duplicate check to merge them.

  12. Our Polaris Staff Client has the option to scan a patron's driver's license to autofill their registration information. It would be great for Polaris Leap to also have this feature.

  14. When doing bulk check-in, rather than importing a file that has probably been exported from a record set, it would be much faster and easier to have the option to simply select an item record set and have the items it contains checked in.

  15. There's no limit (that we've run into, anyway) in the desktop client to the number of z39.50 remote databases you can search at a time, but Leap has implemented a 10 database limit. If there needs to be a limit, can it be slightly higher at least?

  16. Hi there,

When both Notes and Dated Notes are enabled, please just display them under one tab. It's tedious to have to check both tabs (notes for legacy notes, dated notes for new ones). It'd be better to be able to see all notes in one place.

    Thanks!

  19. It's great being able to bulk-add records to a record set, but it would also be helpful to be able to bulk-remove records from a record set based on either another record set, or an Excel file.

Today in larger record sets it can be a pain to remove a medium to large amount of records. Our staff may work with 10,000+ entry record sets, and need to remove records meeting certain criteria that isn't visible in the fields when viewing a record set. This idea would give a user the flexibility to fill a separate record set based on…

  20. Currently there is a universal expanded/collapsed setting for the web parts. Providing individual settings would ensure patrons can immediatley view contents for key information.

E.g., Closure Notices and special events might be expanded by default as they include timely information while the other web parts (What's my PIN?, Add/edit Username, Suggest a Purchase) might be collapsed by default.
