Enhance PAPI HoldRequestGetList to Return and Filter by Pickup Area
Enhance the Polaris API HoldRequestGetList endpoint to include the assigned PickupAreaID and PickupArea for each hold, and add support for an optional pickuareaid query parameter. Polaris introduced Pickup Areas in version 7.5 to let libraries define multiple pickup points inside a single branch, such as lockers, curbside locations, drive‑through windows, or other specialized service points. Pickup areas were created to avoid the need to create extra branches and to support the increasing use of lockers and flexible pickup workflows. However, HoldRequestGetList does not return the Pickup Area, which means an integration cannot determine where a hold is supposed to be…

Allow a patron to be excluded from Overdue notices but not from Billing notices
Currently when libraries in our consortium lend an ILL item to other libraries that are not part of our consortium, part of our process is checking out the item in a patron account in Leap -- for tracking the status of the item, for statistics, and to make use of the ILS notices functions.
We do not want Overdue notices to go to those other libraries, but we would want Billing notices to go to them when appropriate. There are also a few other specific situations (some children's groups, some institutional/organizational patrons) where we would prefer to skip Overdue notices…

Record set filtering by column
The search/filter functionality in a record set could be improved by providing the option of applying it to a selected column instead of to all the columns.

LEAP - Ability to edit invoice header charges
The functionality to edit fund or charge type in header charges would help streamline acquisitions workflows. At this time, we have to delete and redo the charge when we only want to update the fund, creating more room for error.

Improve Toast management
Toast messages can sometimes be difficult to catch if they fade too quickly or can get in the way if they accumulate on the screen. It would help if the toast appeared, then was reduced to a smaller indicator that could be cleared. Aso allow staff to open the history of toasts for their current session, so they can refind a message once they have finished what they were doing.

Inventory to update item status
I would like to have the option for items being inventoried, if they have an anomalous status, to have those items go to a status of IN. Of course, we would rather not do that for damaged items, etc., so the ability to decide which statuses would be updated to IN, such as missing, would be essential.

It would be useful to have the bulk change option in the Find Tool for bibs, like the existing functionality for items.

Waive fines/fees during youth to adult transition process
Allow the option to waive fines/fees when youths are transitioned to adults in automatically in Polaris 8.0. We do not want to have the new adults be responsible for a balance that was charged to them as minors.

Advance Additional Hold Requests Through RTF Sequences
When multiple hold requests exist for the same title, Polaris may keep all of the requests in the same Holds Request to Fill Routing Sequence as long as a single eligible item remains available in that sequence. This can occur even AFTER one item has already been identified to fill the requests.
As a result, the remaining requests may wait through the full primary and secondary routing periods before reaching the tertiary sequence, even though other libraries have available items that could fill them immediately. Depending on the configured days-at-branch settings, this can unnecessarily delay requests.
Polaris should evaluate each…

Ability to prioritize hold requests to be filled by a branch that has multiple copies of the requested title
Currently, if a customer places a request, it will go through the list of branches as we have them prioritized currently. It may try to pull a hold from a branch that has only one copy while another branch has five on their shelf. I would like to be able to prioritize those branches with more copies for two reasons. First, it can help us to distribute titles more evenly through our use of the floating function. And second, it can help fulfill a hold more quickly. If a branch has more copies of a title, it is likely that…

Retain load-all after making changes in a record set
Provide an option to retain the load-all after making changes in a record set. Currently if you load all, then make a change, it reloads the limited set of records.

Apply sort to all records in record set
Just as bulk change applies to all the records in a record set (whether they are all loaded or not), sorting should apply to all the records, not just the ones that are initially loaded.

Allow staff to add supplier records without allowing them to modify the Postal Codes table
When staff add Supplier records, they currently are required to have the "Modify Postal Address Fields" permission. This means that they can add any postal code/city combination into the address and, if it is not already in the Postal Codes table, it will automatically be added there. This allows staff to add incorrect data into the Postal Codes table, which then allows circulation staff to accidentally select those options when adding new patron accounts. We would like to see Supplier records have the same option as Patron records, where we can lock staff down so that they can only select…

Save and Action items in bib MARC workform (Leap)
The MARC views for most full bib records are longer than the screen and require scrolling when editing. It would be helpful if the Save (and other important actions) either stayed available at the top of the page (as they do in the compare tool) or were repeated at the bottom of the record. This would save having to scroll back to the top of the record to select Save, Duplicate Check, etc.

Add save option to "close without saving" pop-up
In Leap, when item or bib records are closed after edits have been made, the warning pop-up the options are to close without saving or to cancel the close action. In the client, (and in Leap patron records) the pop-up includes an option to save & close, which is probably the intended action most of the time.
Having to click to cancel the close, then click to save, then click to close again, is a lot of extra steps.21 votes -

Reminder to refresh bib workform after editing in compare tool
Because edits can be made on a bib from the compare tool while the bib workform is open and unlocked, it would be helpful to have a reminder to staff to refresh the bib workform if they return to it. When staff are working with multiple bibs, it is easy to forget that a refresh is needed before making additional edits. Saving in the bib workform can result in losing the edits made in the compare tool.
Ideally a pop-up or a highlighted refresh button would only show up if edits had been made to the bib elsewhere. This could…11 votes -
Add the ability to edit the 008 field directly instead of having to open the editing box
In Leap, when you edit the 008 field by typing in the field directly, instead of opening the editing box, the position of the subfields is corrupted. The ability to edit the 008 field directly works correctly in the Client, and is an important, time-saving feature. Common edits include adding an 'a' for illustrations in position 18 or adding a second date in positions 11-14.
2 votesClarification on the enhancement: the 008 field is currently editable without expanding and using the drop downs.
The enhancement is to no longer require you to remove the character that is in the 008 field to replace it.
For example: if you have a blank space in position 23 the enhancement would allow you to type "b" without having to highlight the space to replace it, or delete the space after typing your desired value.

Add POLI record ID to header (Leap)
Currently the POLI record ID is only visible as part of the url in the browser. It would help staff to more easily differentiate between multiple POLIs for the same title if the unique ID was included in the POLI header and as a column in the PO.
