We are a cooperative library system and have 14 member libraries, each with their own IT support and each with their own desktop security and browser settings. (Which we aren't able to control.) The concern about working offline in leap and losing data if the cache is cleared has been a hurdle to libraries adopting Leap at the circ desk.

As notes are not editable, if staff find an error they have to re-create the note and if it's on the long side they'd prefer to copy and paste it and make edits in the new note than try to re-type the whole note. The other use case - which comes up more often - is to highlight a specific part of the note like a barcode for searching. This would be in cases where a note is made because a patron returned an item with missing parts, or two patrons want their accounts to be associated but we need both to visit the library and provide consent so we make notes in their accounts with the other's barcode until they can. Being able to quickly highlight the barcode, search it, and then take action is the point of making the note in the first place. Right now some staff can use browser extensions like "Allow Copy" in Chrome, but some of our member libraries have stricter security settings on their browsers which don't allow extensions to be installed, so staff at those locations don't have that option - and it would be better if the function were directly available in Leap.

To add to my previous comment, what is probably more relevant than the whitespace is that when staff currently print out picklists or holds pull lists from the staff client, they hide the columns with patron names. They are unable to do that with the Leap picklist, so either with a tablet or a printed sheet of paper they are walking out in the stacks among patrons with a list of patron names and associated requested titles. Everyone tries to be careful but if you are balancing a tablet or packet of paper, a stylus/pen, a booktruck, and the item you just pulled - you're not always going to be able to keep everything perfectly hidden from the browsing patrons on either side of you. And since holds are often being pulled by pages (high school students) or volunteers (high school students) - it's preferred to not even have those pulling the holds have access to the patron names if possible. Being able to adjust the Picklist to show and then not show patron names would be a major help to our library system's commitment to patron privacy.

Our staff would like the ability to customize the columns displayed so that they can print out the picklist. Some of our locations have 200+ holds to pull a day and use volunteers for this work - while using Leap on a tablet would be ideal, it's not affordable. Currently, the Leap picklist web display prints out with a lot of whitespace and the ability to remove columns and create a more condensed and printable display would help these libraries quite a bit. (Right now they are keeping staff client around for this function.)

This came up in the Circulation Forum at IUG, so this issue touches staff who work at front desks, not just technical services. It's a big barrier to getting tech services staff to move serials work over to Leap. But allowing staff to bulk delete predicted issues would just be a big improvement to usability and make the process of checking in serials at the desk using Leap much faster and easier.

Updating that we have now managed to move the majority of our staff over to Leap for patron services, but will have to continue to maintain a couple of staff client stations at every member library for Polaris offline because the Leap Offline dependence on browser cache is a total non-started with all IT admins involved. They've literally said they'd rather have staff use pencil and paper.
All we really need is the ability to backup the offline files to a hard drive or somewhere outside of the browser cache.
