Feels silly not to have this - we have a community that is very engaged with our libraries, and we have clear evidence that when a title is written about in the NY Times Book Review, our patrons rush to put in an order. Those same patrons use whether there's an on-order record as a litmus test for how well our collection development is going. Many a Saturday and Sunday, I worked on the reference desk and had patrons ask why an item had or had not been ordered. It is deeply important that we have this, so much so that our library system has developed a workaround. But that's simply not sufficient, and I believe it should be supported.
