    To use this "permanent location" field for displays, we would like to have another field in the item record, a checkbox for whether staff should be prompted to change the location to the permanent location at checkout/checkin. You might check this box if you were putting an item on a temporary display, but not if something was supposed to stay on the "new" shelf for three months or something.

    Maybe we should call the new fields "temporary location" and "clear on checkin/checkout?", and just continue calling the existing field "location."

    This would be helpful to us, too. It's standard for the documentation of what a code means to be right there in the software where you use the code.

    It would be really nice to allow patrons to check out INN-Reach items through our Communico app when they take them off of the hold shelf. Patrons don't understand that you can 't check out everything that way.

    It seems like there would be several levels at which this could be set: per user, per system, maybe somewhere in between for consortia(?).

    If a password was going to be saved, it would be nice for it to be encrypted, but I don't know if the SDA could do that.
