  1. To inform the blocking of IP ranges from which bad actors are abusing the /selfreg form, record the origin IP in a varfield or new fixed field on the patron record.

    If a varfield, the default of an x-Note would suffice, but make this varfield tag customizable via one of the administrative interfaces. Historically speaking, Admin Corner would have been the go-to place to make this customization.

  2. Ability for patron to add money to their Sierra patron account (via self-check) to pay for future fines, fees, and printing. We are looking to go mostly cashless, but some patrons aren't able to get credit cards (like our young patrons here after school). Our self-check machine takes cash, which would allow patrons to print and pay fees/fines with cash, even if the staff doesn't have a cash register.

  3. Because our library does not use fines, having the "Failed to acquire fines payment lock. If not cleared, fines payments cannot be processed" message is of no utility for us. We'd love multiple users to be able to view a patron record without this message showing up.

  4. Passkeys are both easier for people to use and safer than using passwords and PINs. Passkeys allows users to sign in to their account using the same mechanism they use to unlock their device - fingerprint, face recognition, etc. There are a couple of good introductions to the benefits of Passkeys over traditional username/password credentials here:

  5. Part of the homebound module is to add ratings to checked in items for the patron.
    The rating data for the Homebound module is not kept in the Sierra SQL database, but rather in a separate log which is used to create the Homebound Patron Report so it cannot be accessed through Sierra Direct SQL Access. It would be nice if the ratings were more accessible in the SQL tables. Thanks.

  6. Currently, when a patron is logged into their Encore account and they place a request, the system will default to their home library for the pickup location. If they want to pick up somewhere else, they have to manually choose that option from the dropdown menu.

    We want to keep the home library field limited to physical library locations, but allow for alternative pickup options that aren't specifically a home library (community pickup location, or hold lockers, etc). Right now, if you want to pick up somewhere other than your home library, you have to choose from a dropdown option.…
