Verify Heading option for item record
Could we please have the 'Verify Heading' functionality developed to apply to call numbers in item records?
We used the 'Verify Heading' option for call numbers on item records for a long time since Millennium, that bug is fixed in Sierra 6.0. Now that feature only on bibliographic and authority records.

Sierra 6.1 - Add item status date to Create Lists
It would be very useful to be able to at least export (if not also filter/search on) the status date in Create Lists. We do things like delete items that have been in certain statuses for a certain number of months, and used to have to guess based on the updated date, but obviously records can be updated without the status being changed. Going forward (as newer items get status dates associated with them) we can check item-by-item by mousing over the status in the item record, but it would be a big help to have the date appear alongside…

Sierra 6.1 - Sierra Admin - Allow Export of Permissions
Provide system administrators the ability to export a user's permissions - both assigned and available. I am trying to provide an employee's manager with a list of the permissions her employee has, so she can see what should be added. There is no easy way to do this. I can't even copy/paste; when you highlight the permissions it just allows you to move them around vs. copying.

Encore request box character limit improvement
Currently we are having a problem when our readers fill in the Encore request note box. There is a hard limit of 125 characters which our readers routinely blast through. In trying to solve this problem, we have added a more descriptive label to the box (saying that the message has to be limited to 125 characters), but still the readers expect us to receive the information that they have typed in beyond the 125 character limit - the request box will allow them to add it in, but won't transmit this information to the library.

Bulk Item level holds on same bib record
Often times when items are moving from one call number to another, holds are placed on the items that are checked out in order to capture these items when they are returned so that any cataloging work can be done.
The idea is to have an option to have some way that multiple item level holds can be placed on one bib record at the same time.
Idea Value
The value of this idea is staff time. By having to place individual holds on each item, this can take a long time when there are multiple copies of an item…32 votesThis enhancement is planned for Sierra 6.2.

Sierra 6.1 - Protect Global Updates on Server from accidental overwrite
In the Global Update function, "File" > "Save (Server)" should prompt the user to confirm if they attempt to overwrite an existing search.
Write-protection of specific saved global updates on the sever would provide additional assurance against data loss for very important/complex items.
Idea Value
This would mitigate the risk of accidental data loss due to user error. Sophisticated searches may be saved to the server, the loss of which may require substantial work to recreate accurately. As of Sierra 5.4, if a user working with an unsaved session accidentally selects "Save (Sever)" rather than "Load (Sever)", the "Save as..."…

Better Load Table Editing Platform
The Load Tables are a critical point for any data management of a library. While many functions and features have been migrated from character-based system access to web access or within the SDA, this feature has not changed. Programming with what seems like a unix-based editor reminds me of the "dark ages" of programming.
Idea Value
Many times the syntactical error or omission of a line in my load table editing sessions happen because of the UNIX-like environment where editing takes place. Increased modernization of the editor would streamline the process.31 votesThis idea was selected for development from the All Systems Go challenge.
Design of this enhancement is underway. I will provide an update when we have determined which release will include this enhancement.
