    Could this be accomplished by adding a new parameter to the existing /patrons/validate endpoint? For example:

    PatronValidation {
    barcode (string): User barcode,
    pin (string): User PIN,
    caseSensitivity (boolean, optional): Case sensitivity,
    updateCircActive (boolean, optional): Update last circ activity
