The ability to search and display non-roman paired fields (MARC 880) allows patrons to search for materials in Chinese/Japanese/Korean/Russian (Cyrilic)/Hebrew/Arabic
Without the ability to display or search in those scripts patrons will be unable to place their own holds, as romanization does not always match what a native speaker would searchMiriam Gloger supported this idea ·
