   Adding a fake barcode so that patrons can place holds is time-consuming and frustrating. It is also not well documented, so libraries new to Polaris have trouble understanding why their patrons cannot place holds on certain items. Why do items with volume numbers need barcodes when they aren't required for placing holds on items without volume numbers?

    This would be very useful in making sure that the right ISBN is associated with an order. Having to check against the vendor's site or record takes extra time and increases the chance of mistakes.

    Trying to find the correct shelf location in the list of all libraries' locations is very frustrating, and it is easy to make a mistake. When you are changing a large number of records, one mistake can have severe consequences that can be time-consuming to fix.
