I've seen a request to include item and bib circ together on the bib record, and that would be great. However, a major problem for us is not keeping historical circulation info in a bib record. Right now, Polaris does not keep circulation stats from deleted item records in the total lifetime circ, which means we have lost circulation from deleted item records and the total number is just the circ from current active item records, not a true lifetime count. We need the lifetime circulation number of a bib record to include all the circulation attached to that bib record, whether the item record it came from has been deleted or not. Please record that circ data and keep it in the bib record. We use this information on a daily basis for selection decisions, especially for patron requests and older items, or refurbishment for perennially popular titles. Not having this total lifetime circ number be accurate is causing our selection team major hassles. They describe it has having their selection work kneecapped. Thank you for considering!
