@Amie Scott: that wasn't the idea, no. (But that is a good idea also!)
This idea was in regards to being able to create URL links from external sources (outside the Vega catalog) that would land patrons directly on the Bookmarks, Saved Searches, and Reading History tabs within the My Bookshelf section. Currently the only possible direct links to specific patron account tabs are to Checkout, Holds, Fines and Fees, and Profile.

I'd like to add that this ability should extend to being able to set the "From" email address for Vega Discover's password reset emails. Patrons who are receiving password reset emails from no-reply@iiivega.com have already reported being confused and thinking it's spam / phishing.
