Patron Registration form / workflow: allow custom password parameters and selection of home branch
A couple issues with the new Patron Registration form / workflow:
1) we'd like to have control of patrons' ability to set up their PIN directly within the form (we use PINs rather than passwords). As a library system, we currently require a 4-digit numeric PIN, and rolling out the Vega Patron Registration form — that emails patrons with a link to set up a password — would set us up for problems down the road, where patrons are selecting passwords that are outside of the allowed 4-digit numeric PINs.
2) We'd like patrons to be able to select their own home branch as part of the registration process, rather than selecting a default branch that ALL registrants would fall under.

This is vital to making the Discover form a replacement for the PAC form, which has both capabilities. We won't be transitioning to the Discover workform unless these enhancements are implemented.
Our system does not have a 'main' branch, so arbitrarily selecting one of the three equal-sized locations would artificially inflate the registration numbers for that location, no to mention create confusion for patrons who, unbeknownst to them, are registered with Branch A, only visit Branch B, and receive notifications about their account from a 'home' branch they have never visited and may not even be aware exists.
We also have spent YEARS educating patrons on the formatting of PINs (like Derek's library, we use four-digit numeric) and definitely don't want to introduce any ambiguity there for staff.
