Discover pickup location should default to 'select a library' not the first in the alphabet
Currently, when I library is temporarily closed for a renovation, we noticed different behavior in Discover vs. the PAC when it comes to default pickup location. We think the way it used to work is better.
In Discover that patrons registered to that library (who have no preferred pick up location) set on their profile... Discover will default to the first one alphabetically. This is a problem for us as a consortium because now patrons are clicking through and sending things to the library that starts with A for pickup. Yes, they can select another one, but most will just leave it as the one that Discover auto-selected. We think it should match the behavior of the PAC. In the PAC and if they don't have a preferred location and their library is closed, it says "select library" and doesn't just list the one at the top of the alphabet.
Please see the attached 2 examples of how it looks in the PAC vs Discover for a patron when their default library is turned off as a pick up location.

If a patron searches within your library's view of the catalog, it defaults to their home library. However, if a patron is simply searching from the main catalog and not selecting their home library's view of the catalog, then it should still default to their home library or not select a library.
