We just had a situation with a patron where several items they returned in the book drop on 6/30 were checked in today 7/5, however they were back-dated to accommodate for the days the library was closed and prevent fees from accruing. But upon viewing the history in Leap for each of those items, the check-in date displays as 7/5 and does NOT show the 5 days back-date, which would've been 6/30.   3. Idea Value:
    In Circulation Request Manager include the option to be able to export every ILL Request from every branch location at once. Libraries will benefit from having the export all ILL Requests option, being able to retrieve all ILLs at once, instead of having to select each branch individually and right-click to export each item.

  4. Being able to set a max limit on the number of holds by material type (or Collection) would be beneficial for items that are perpetually popular but additional copies cannot be purchased.
    I.e. Museum passes - 500 bib level holds limit
    this would also help to ensure hold request does not lapse due to long wait times

  5. It's currently very easy to see handling details for received INN-Reach and Item level local holds in hold shelf status from the hold request in Leap (by clicking Satisfied By). In these cases, only the item that has filled the request appears. It is NOT at all easy to get to these details for other hold shelf and hold in transit items that originated with a bib-level hold request. When clicking Satisfied By for these requests, you see all items attached to the bib record plus their activity, requiring add'l detective work to narrow down the specific copy that filled…

  6. I propose that if the patron limitation is zero for a material type check out then the item will not be trapped for the patron. They will stay on the top of the holds list until an item that does not have a material type of zero for that patron type is checked in and trapped. Thus making the material type check out limit of zero a true material type block.

  7. We had a staff member let us know that they had a credit on their personal account and they found the process of dealing with the credit to be a little frustrating. The credit did not automatically apply to their other fees and there was no way for them (as a patron) to tell the system to apply the credits. The only option was for the patron to get in touch with staff to have this taken care of. This would give the patrons more flexibility for managing their account.

  8. Polaris' claim return function is great for locally-owned items but is problematic with INN-Reach. We are constantly reminding staff NOT to use Claim Return for INN-Reach items because it can break transaction links but they continue to do so. If system admin allowed us to exclude our INN-Reach and WorldCat material types from Claim Return and Claim Missing Part functions, it would reduce errors significantly.

  9. Currently, customers' first, middle and last names display identically in Leap patron accounts. This can make identifying the last name difficult which impacts staff ability to properly address customers and to accurately retrieve holds for customers with more than 1 last name. We propose bolding or in some other way making more distinctive in the patron account header any values in coming from the last name field in patron registration. Currently, we often have to click into patron registration in order to determine which name(s) are actually in the last name field when retrieving holds, etc. Making this change would…

  11. With the increased scrutiny on children's books, we are looking for ways to offer parents opt-in access to their child's account activities.

    Our suggestion is to expand functionality for associated accounts. Associations allow staff to link parents to their children's accounts, and access those accounts easily. However, from the parent's dashboard when they login to PAC, they are unable to view or manage their associated accounts.

  12. One of the key hold ups to staff embracing Leap over the staff client at our library is the need to click continue or press the enter key to generate a hold slip for EVERY item triggering a hold in bulk check in. We are a large, RFID library and these added key strokes required for processing pulled requests and book drop are a primary complaint and Leap adoption deterrent for our staff.

  13. Create a way to convert an Item specific (not Volume specific) hold request to a First Available request. To often staff create a hold for a patron from the Item Find Tool and create the request for that specific item which usually delays the fulfillment of that request.

  14. All use of Secure patron when customer has checkouts, holds, etc.

    The secure patron function in Leap does almost exactly what we need for what we call suspended patrons (those not allowed on library property) - it blocks a customer's record and provides a clear, visual indicator that the account has been secured.

    I can't use it though and had to create a workaround to accomplish much the same thing because Secure Patron is only an option when the patron has no account activity. This makes no sense and renders the function unusable.

  16. I love the New Holds function in Leap. It makes it easy to place lots of holds for a customer in a single session when you know exact info and they are fine getting it later. With this feature though, you have no way to easily see WHERE copies of a title are or what their status is or details about WHAT you are placing a hold on. It would be great if there was a way to link to or preview bib info and item details (such as circ status and location) so you know if you even need…

  17. While Leap Item Record views are pretty robust, they often lack a very critical piece of information - Last Activity Date. Modification and Creation date display in Properties but Last Activity Date is not displayed. While it can sometimes be found in the History view, this is not always the case. Sometimes History is empty in Leap. We reference Last Activity date in the staff client on a regular basis and need ready access to that same information in Leap

  18. In the Find Tool, allow users to filter by a library organization's branches by selecting a library 'quick pick' option. This would eliminate the need for a system used by multiple libraries to click each branch associated with their organization.

  19. Provide aggregate circulation data and status by branch and item record. Previously this information was available on the Preview screen of the desktop client. Desired information by branch: Number of items, Number of holds, Year-to-date circulation, Previous year-to-date circulation, Lifetime circulation, Year-to-date in-house use, Previous year-to-date in-house use, Lifetime in-house use.   20. In Polaris staff have the ability to tap ENTER to close a check out. In Leap, staff must select COMPLETE with the mouse to close the transaction.
