Consortia Member Identity in SMS
I am so tired of trying to be a consortia in a stand alone environment!
Patrons identify with their local independant library. A single opt in landing page doesn't allow for local branding to unify the experience within the website or collection site. Currently selecting the single opt in page passes you out of the domain to a generic shared page for the entire consortia. This means no library logo/color and single brand messaging.
Not only are we sending them off brand and off site, but the Vendor (who is of zero importance to our patrons) takes up most of the 160 available characters in the welcome message, giving us no opportunity to identify the consortia as partner to their local library. We have to abreviate our name and further obscure our identity to even fit. Patrons who identify with their library have no fighting chance to understand who or what they are signing on for.
Contact options for patron support should be at the branch level. As a central site, we do not directly interract with our members patrons. They support their patrons, we support them.
Failed message reports need to be identifiable by Ptype. The library needs to identify the patron by more than a phone number. Consortia need to divert issues to the right library.
With spamming and phishing so prevalent, we need to maximize recognition. Marketing our member libraries is important to the support that helps to pay for the very products we implement.
