Remove Grey Cover Images for Titles Not In Collection
In the "more in this series" area provided by syndetics, a grey cover image is displayed if the title does not exist in the collection. This creates confusion for the patron who sees a title that isn't there. When clicked on, it takes the patron to a keyword search, which creates even more confusion. We would like this to be optional. Right now, there is no way to turn off grey cover images without taking away a large part of Discover functionality. There is the ability to turn off syndetics, but then it turns off everything (removing "you may also like" etc.)
If there isn't an easy way to remove grey cover images, we would like them to link to a "suggest a title" form which would solve the redirecting to the keyword search confusion.

I second the idea of an overlayed "Not owned" verbiage, and if clicking on the item pre-populated a collection addition request to the patron's registered library - that would be slick!

Personally I think it's intuitive that greyed out means N/A, but maybe they just need something on the greyed out image, like words "Not Available" or "Not Owned" or something like that. That way you know what else is in the series, even if the library doesn't own all of the titles.
