An error occurred while saving the comment An error occurred while saving the comment Eric Lozauskas commentedThis one is crucial for an entire generation of library users who live primarily in our mobile app. Without it, they have to leave the app and use a separate web browser just to place requests for pickup at a library that has pickup areas configured (eg. Locker, Curbside, Drive-Up Window, etc.). Please add this capability!

An error occurred while saving the comment Eric Lozauskas commentedOn the admin/staff side for Vega Discover - ideally we would like the ability to have the list of Shelf Locations from Polaris with a "show/hide" option for each so that we can remove anything that may be irrelevant for search filtering (like a shelf location of Information Desk). This would give all of your customers the ability to best use this new filter facet in whatever way aligns with how they set up their combination of Collections and Shelf Locations in their ILS.
Also, did I mention that this capability exists in other products like Aspen Discovery, etc.? This could be a very useful feature so that Innovative can continue to compete against these other products. Thanks!!!
An error occurred while saving the comment Eric Lozauskas commentedOther useful shelf locations for filtering that we have in our consortium include: Local Author, Mystery, Parenting and Family, Picture Book, Romance, Summer Reading, etc.
An error occurred while saving the comment Eric Lozauskas commentedI've created a mockup of what this might look like, which also shows how useful it would be to be able to filter a combination of collections and shelf locations.
An error occurred while saving the comment Eric Lozauskas commentedThis is really important for us... we utilize collections as broad, overarching categories for items (Adult Fiction, Adult Non-Fiction, etc.), but Shelf Locations get more specific. Please add Shelf Location as a filter facet so that our librarians can limit down to "Early Reader, Picture Books, etc.".

An error occurred while saving the comment Eric Lozauskas commentedYes, please make a toggle option to disable the display of holds queue position, specifically to suppress the display of "Place in line # - waiting" from being shown on the Bookshelf under "Holds". For consortia and other large systems this display becomes problematic as a patron may seem to be far down in the queue (in the hundreds) but may actually be getting their item much sooner due to holds processing rules (local library fulfills local patron's requests first before other libraries in the system).
We want to avoid patrons from getting discouraged at their place in the queue, cancelling and just purchasing the book instead of using the library. Thanks for the consideration!

An error occurred while saving the comment Eric Lozauskas commentedAt a minimum, allow the option for a “custom patron registration link” so that we can point to PowerPAC for now (or to another registration page depending on what the library wants)…. Having no link whatsoever in the patron login area isn’t a good user experience.
An error occurred while saving the comment Eric Lozauskas commentedYes, we don't want them to have to pop over to PowerPac just to sign up/register. There's great potential here to make an even friendlier work flow for sign up right from the "My Bookshelf" next to "Sign In" by having a "Sign Up for a Library Card" option.

An error occurred while saving the comment Eric Lozauskas commentedYes please - our consortium of libraries could really benefit from this (as most customers as well). Having the ability to easily limit to our own Material types would help patrons find things that don't have TOMs such as "Playaway, etc."
Ideal implementation would have an area in settings similar to Material Type Mapping that lets you see a list of all pulled in "Material Types" from Polaris and toggle them on/off for inclusion in the facets, and also provide the ability to rename a material type for a more patron-friendly display name. For example, we likely wouldn't want them seeing "Playaway-V" and would set the friendly display name to "Playaway Video".
Later development, we'd love to see the grouping of material types into a single material type facet item. For example, grouping DVD, DVD-J and DVD-RENT as "DVD" to help with searching.
After that, further development would ideally let us create a collection site specific to a material type or multiple selected material types. For example, we have a material type for "Library of Things" - this would be great to quickly use to filter for these items in a custom Collection Site.
Thanks for the consideration!

An error occurred while saving the comment Eric Lozauskas commentedYes, the ability to pull additional field data on in-transit slips. Perhaps similar to user defined fields, we could have branch defined fields, a BDF so to speak. So that BDF1 could have a description of "Route" and contain a route number, and BDF2 could have a description of "Stop" and contain a stop number for delivery purposes. These fields could then be customizable by any customer for their needs and display purposes on a per branch basis on receipts or in other areas of the ILS.

An error occurred while saving the comment Eric Lozauskas commentedI second the idea of an overlayed "Not owned" verbiage, and if clicking on the item pre-populated a collection addition request to the patron's registered library - that would be slick!

An error occurred while saving the comment Eric Lozauskas commentedI feel like this could be piggybacked on the cover image changing based on selection of PS4, PS5, Xbox, etc. for games. Same type of concept with possibly a single solution fixing both.

I'll even share a mock-up of what I'd imagine this feature should look like. After you click "Place hold" and get this screen, it should have options for both "Pickup location" and "Pickup Area". If the branch doesn't have any pickup areas selected, the pickup area would simply be (None). Otherwise, it should provide a list of pickup areas available at that branch.
