Sorting for ILS List Showcases
Thrilled to be able to create showcases in Vega Discover using ILS lists!
The lists seem to automatically sort to newest title first. We'd like to be able to maintain the sort order from the record set or have sort options once added as a showcase.

We absolutely would like for the showcase to maintain the sort of the ILS review file. For example, we sort our new nonfiction by call number. New fiction is by author, etc. We try to mimic how the items are shelved in our system because that's how our patrons are used to browsing them. And that is the order they are in via the old /ftlist in the WebPAC (which our staff still look at).
I agree w/Martin that if options are added to sort our Showcases in Vega, that if at least at the default the ILS can match the sort in the ILS. And you'd get a warning if you tried to manually resort in Vega, that it's no longer sync'd with how the review file is?

At the very least, a showcase created from a review file in Sierra should maintain the sort order from the Review File itself. At present, the titles from the review file appear to populate the showcase in a random order. There is some sorting possible in the review file itself, so maintaining the sort order from the review file would give some options.
For example, we created a review file of the most popular fiction/non-fiction titles based on loan counts, with the most popular title in position 1, and so on. When we created a showcase from this review file the order is not maintained.
If sorting options are developed within the showcase settings in Vega Discover, I imagine it would be difficult to have the original list order as an option after the fact. Thus, I think that starting with the order of the original list would be a logical default.
