This is super important to our library system as it has caused some frustrated calls from patrons saying a program is fully booked by people who have made duplicate signups for events of the same name. The only issue I can think of is that this might cause an issue if someone was trying to sign up for two separate entries in a series of events but that are separated by, say, a week or so.

It would be really helpful if Vega Program would alert a patron or guest when registering for an event that they have already registered for. A checking of information against the current bookings and waiting list.

An alert such as on screen text or pop-up that says something along the lines of "You have already registered for # spaces at this event. (View <link>My Events</link>) Would you like to continue with your registration?" OR "You have already have # spaces on the waiting list. <View <link> My Events</link>) Would you like to continue with your registration?

We have this happening a lot with our YS programs with age restrictions. Parents don't realize the have already signed up or want to sign up more children without checking My Events first and re-register. Staff don't have time to police the individual current bookings listing and then handle communication regarding duplicate registrations. Unintentional duplicate registrations end up lowering the number of actual attendees.

A thought to consider: perhaps it is a parent registering their children or themselves on one card for programs happening at the same time. Parent is registering themselves for an adult program, while at the same time there is a tween program happening. My library has days where we purposely schedule different age group programs to happen at the same time. We have parents registering their younger kids for the kid's program, and their tween/teen for the teen program occurring at the same time.

I think an alert to notify the person there are conflicting programs would be good, but maybe don't stop the patron from completing registration.
