Allow patrons to opt out of different notice types
Some customers only want hold pickup notifications. Others want hold pickup and overdue but not courtesy notices. I believe the fact that notices are all or nothing is a BIG reason why our emails get marked as spam. Please allow patrons to select which notices they receive. Even better, allow staff to decide if a notice is optional. For example, we understand if patrons don't want courtesy notices, but we will always send a bill becasue their borrowing privileges are blocked by then.

Yes, this would be something we'd want, as long as we could decide what the patrons can opt out of.

Customers often claim to have not received a notice to try & get out of being held responsible for whatever it might have been in reference to (e.g. an overdue or billed item).
While I think it's great to give customers options, I wouldn't give them this one as some notices are more important than others, though letting staff decide which are optional (or not), might work.
