We would love to see Vega look at Order records! We have a similar workaround where we created material types for different On Order types. One of the things that is really lacking with this method is useful sorting and searching. Patrons want to be able to see what is on order sorted by order date. Right now, there isn't a good way to sort On order records since "New Materials" looks at the cat date which we don't add until the item is received. Limiting by material type is also not as robust as it could be since we didn't add an on order type for every material type (since we hoped that on order searching would be coming soon). For instance, you can't search specifically for On Order Non Fiction, On Order Fiction or On Order Picture Book, etc. since those are all lumped into On Order Book. We could create additional material types but were hoping to not have to do that.
I've received a number of complaints from patrons that want to be able to quickly view what has been ordered since the last time they checked and they can't really do this reliably now.

This was closed as completed in error. Functions that would link the Vega Discover Account linking with Sierra are not yet built.

We are being asked for this functionality. It would really be helpful for families managing multiple accounts!

I just received a request for this and think it would be useful since not all items checked out are read. Patrons that consult reading history when looking for future reads might want the ability to remove titles that they didn't have a chance to read when they borrowed them.

We have also received requests for other ways to sort holds, including by the "pickup by" date. We are also getting lots of feedback saying that patrons want to be able to see more at-a-glance on the holds screen without having to scroll. The ability to condense the information into fewer lines and turn off images would be appreciated.

Our patrons have been asking for the ability to search by Author for both Holds and Checkouts and by placed date for Holds.

We receive requests to be able to print and/or export lists and showcases from both patrons and staff regularly!

Since going live with Vega, we have had a number of complaints about the inability to print lists of items. As others mention, patrons would like to be able to print their checkouts, holds, reading history, etc. Patrons and staff would also find it useful to be able to print out showcase lists. Ideally, such lists would print in a condensed, textual list, including title, author and call number.

We have edited the wording in the translation file to try to make this a bit less confusing but it is still not user friendly for our patrons.
We do add records for some digital titles but things like Magazines that have multiple issues still display like this.
This same issue occurs when a physical item is suppressed in the ILS. This is particularly problematic for items that are BILLED that we don't want displaying in the catalogue and gathering holds when there may not be any remaining active items but we still want the patron that has it checked out to know what they have checked out. When there is a record in the ILS, it would be great if it could display in the Bookshelf, regardless of Suppressed status.
