When Receiving POs, Only Change Item Status to In-Process if Current Item Status Is On Order
It is frustrating that Polaris allows items that have not been received to circulate. There is probably not a connection between the PO status and the item status – but it sure would be nice if there was! We recently had an incident where items were distributed to branches before having been invoiced and received. A few days later when the invoice was processed, the items were all changed to a status of In-Process, even though they had already been checked out or were in a status of Being Held. It was very difficult to correct. One solution would be that upon receiving, check if the item status is On Order – if yes, change to In-Process. Any other status - maintain that status.

Yes! We have had this issue happen a couple of times for some reason. The "Checkedout to In Process" nightmare is a bug. It should not be possible to create this situation.
