Allow patrons to group holds for different formats (like staff can in Polaris)
In Polaris, staff can group holds on different formats together for patrons if, for example, they don't care whether they get the DVD or Blu-ray, or the regular print or large print. This would be great patron service if they could do that themselves.

Adding a "New" field in LEAP
Because new is both a location and a status, it would be helpful to have an item level field in LEAP that is for "new" items. A simple checkbox would be sufficient, like "holdable" or "display in PAC." This would free up shelf location for any items that are both new and in a specific area, such as Travel, World, Graphic, etc.

Our staff searches for patrons by date of birth to check for duplicate accounts. It would be nice to enter only one date instead of two.

Polaris integration with Kajeet
More and more libraries circulate mobile wifi hotspots to the public. Polaris and Polaris Leap do not currently integrate with Kajeet, which is one of the more popular wifi hotspot providers for schools and libraries. It would be beneficial to libraries using the Polaris ILS to be able to streamline the circulation process such that checking in/out a hotspot in Polaris also activated/deactivated the hotspot itself.

Ability to block holds by resource group or vendor account
Library staff frequently place holds that can’t be filled on the records for e-books from non-integrated vendors like Hoopla. Canceling these holds takes time. Since we still need to allow holds for the integrated vendors, we can’t change the material type to unholdable in system administration. Adding the ability to block holds by resource group or vendor account would solve the problem.

Leap Offline Improvements
Currently there is more functionality in the client than in Leap for offline services. I would like Leap to also be able to create customer accounts and process check-ins like the client. But it would also be nice for the check in function, once transactions have been uploaded, to have the option for all items to go to a status of "IN" and be assigned to the branch they were checked in at.

Do Not Merge Checkbox Added to Registration
Indian Trails Library has had a large flux in separated families with parents living in two different library districts. The parents want to keep their accounts separate. According to IL these children are entitled to have a library card with each parent when they reside at both addresses.
Also, we have several members with two properties in different library districts. A few times now the accounts were merged and the members have been upset with the library even though we placed notes on the member's account not to merge the accounts.
A "Do Not Merge" checkbox added to the Registration…

Assign New INN-Reach Holds at the Bib Level, For Easier Transferring Between Copies
Currently, incoming requests are assigned from the INN-Reach central server to a specific copy in the catalog. If for some reason that item cannot be found or used, staff must undertake a lengthy multi-step process to transfer the item-level hold to another copy.
Keeping the hold at the bib level and letting Polaris assign it to an item will reduce the time it takes to transfer INN-Reach holds between copies will save a lot of staff time in communicating and processing, and further will reduce delays in getting the request fulfilled and sent out.

duplicate holds criteria for video games
When deduplicating hold requests, Polaris looks at title, author, and material type. Therefore, it doesn't allow our customers to place holds on the same video game title for different consoles.
Please also consider UPC during the hold request duplicate detection process.10 votes -
Restrict hold pickup areas by material type
Allow each library to specify specific material types(?) to not be allowed to be picked up in certain pickup areas. Example would be a wi-fi hotspot not being allowed to be picked up in a locker.

Block holds creation when all items in a suppressed circulation status
There should be an option to block patrons from placing holds on items if there is only one owning library and the circulation status of the item is listed as missing or in storage. While in storage items should be visible to patrons in the OPAC since sometimes that item can be taken out of storage if a patron wants it, they shouldn't be able to place a hold if there's only one owning library and their only copy is listed as in storage. Like withdrawn items, missing items simply shouldn't show up at all for patrons as an option.

Circulation by Loaning Branch at the Bib level
Currently the preview screen in Client and the Bibliographic level statistics screen in Leap provides circulation by Owning Branch. It would be more helpful in determining where a title is popular (and more useful for acquisitions) to have this data based on Loaning Branch. Use on a specific copy would still be accessible on the item record. If circulation by loaning branch can't be provided there, having it accessible elsewhere from the Bib record would be great.

Include count in Leap table filter
When using the filter box in a Leap workform (for example, in Reading History, Out, holds or really anywhere you have ability to filter a view), please add an indicator of how many items are caught in the filter. For ex. a customer has 85 items checked out and wants to know how many DVDs they still have out. Typing DVD into filter reduces the list but doesn't tell you how many DVDs there are. The only option is count them.

Polaris ExpressCheck interface
On the Polaris self-check machines, the EXIT button at the end of the checkout is proving to be confusing to some patrons, as they think that they were bumped out of the transaction without completing it. Having a screen or message telling the patron that the transaction is complete would be helpful. Alternately, being able to customize this wording to say COMPLETE or FINISH instead would work.
We would also like to be able to customize other wording such as "scan the book's barcode" to be more generic, as many library materials aren't books.

Force Leap Logout at Browser Close
Leap should force logout when browser/browser tab is closed. Forcing a logout at browser/browser tab close would ensure that any open editable records are closed out as well.

Default patron codes - Make Leap function like the Polaris Client
When a patron's registered branch is updated via Leap but their existing patron code is not available at the new branch, Leap assigns the first patron code alphabetically by default. The Polaris client, by contrast, applies the default patron code for the new registered branch. Please follow the patron registration default patron code for that location in Leap, as happens today in the Polaris client.

Alert Sound Effect
I'm guessing Leap being web-based makes this difficult to outright impossible but a warning sound effect for Leap's modal alerts would be nice.
Something like:
var audio = new Audio('audio_file.mp3');
audio.play();Assuming alerts in leap use Bootstrap's modal function calling the audio function after the shown.bs.modal trigger fires might work.

Provide easy way to convert item level holds to bib level
We teach staff that, except in very rare cases, they should always be placing bib level holds for customers but sometimes folks make mistakes. It would be great there was a check box option in Leap to convert a customer's item level hold to a bib level hold while retaining their position in the queue. Currently, if a staffer places an item level hold in error, to fix it, they have to place a new bib level hold and then use the checkbox and arrows in the queue to move them from last position (for example, 453) to their former…
