Ability to mark an item Missing from the Unclaimed Picklist.
Scenario:
1. An item that has been trapped and is (most often) sent from another library to fill a hold for pickup at another branch.
2. The Hold is put on the shelf for the customer at a branch.
3. After X days, it shows up on the Unclaimed list.
4. Staff go to the shelf to remove it, but it is not there.
5. Staff check the system - the item has not been checked out by anyone (sometimes customer are confused and think a hold is actually already checked out to them a la picking up an online order.)
6. If the item is not assigned to that branch (which most holds in our 21 branch system are not owned by the pickup library), staff have no way to get the item off their Unclaimed list. When an item is in the circulation status of Holds, there are no other options to select. We tried checking the item in, but once the items goes In-Transit, again there are no other options to select.
The ability to mark an item Missing should be an option from the Unclaimed Picklist. The item goes on the missing list to be searched for and the Unclaimed list is cleaned up.

We just migrated from SirsiDynix in October and staff have loved Leap so far except this missing feature. It is one of the top things we have been asked for so far.

I like this idea! I would love it if an extra feature and permission could be added to this to allow libraries in a consortium to allow this setting on items even when another library system owns the item and it is normally not allowed for another library system to edit the item. I'm probably asking for too much.
