In Preview > Brief > Subjects: Allow Vega libraries to link to Vega (not Power Pac)
In an Item Record's Preview, when you click on the Subjects in the Brief tab, you are sent to the Power Pac. For Vega libraries, please link out to Vega instead of the Power Pac.

With Polaris 7.8, we've added the ability to suppress the PAC preview view of the bibliographic record in Leap, so libraries can hide the "PAC" reference and use the Links menu action to link to Vega. I'm going to close this idea specific to the Vega linking issues. Please open a new request if you'd like to make the Links menu customizable for all discovery layers (so as not to confuse this idea).

I think it would work well to have it link out to any discovery layer from the "Links" menu on the bib, since it can't be done in the Preview view. In combination, having the ability to choose whether or not to suppress the Preview tab makes sense.

The Preview tab is using PowerPAC code to display the content, so it is not really possible for us to keep the display and link out to an external Discovery solution.
We do have the ability to link to the record in Vega from the "Links" menu on the bib. If having the Preview tab visible is confusing, we could repurpose this request for the ability to suppress the "Preview" tab.
I'll leave this open for a bit so folks can comment on if editing the idea makes sense.

I'd like to expand this idea further and say that we should be able to link out to any other catalogue or discovery layer. We've written our own but I'm aware of other customers that use Aspen Discovery or BiblioCommons. All are valid and all should be available as options when previewing records.
