Add a note when declaring an item lost on a customer account
When declaring an item lost on a customer account, there is no way to add more to the note on the resulting lost item charge. All that is in the note field is "Declared Lost". It is sometimes important to give more context to the charge and that is why being able to add a note would help!

Eliminate the barcode requirement for placing holds on on-order multivolume set records and serials
At this time, holds on the serials and multivolume set records are not functioning in an efficient manner when the title is not under serial control. Examples include manga, college guides, or test prep guides. In PowerPAC and Leap, patrons and staff cannot place volume level holds when the associated item is on order and does not have a barcode. It is not part of the staff's normal workflow to add a barcode to on-order items until the physical item arrives at the library. As long as a volume is in the volume field, Polaris should be able to identify…

Provide ability to edit payment method in Polaris patron accounts after submission
Sometimes staff select the the wrong payment method in Polaris when taking apply a payment from a customer (cash/check/CC). Once selected, inaccurate payment methods cannot be corrected in Polaris.
While leads spot and notate these errors on Polaris cash reports, our system-wide Finance dept uses these reports to reconcile our credit card statements each month. It happens often enough and across so many branches that it creates a lot of extra work on the back end to reconcile our credit card account. They are requesting III provide the ability to edit payment method in Polaris - this something that we…

Activate arrows on a keyboard
Whenever there are menus like "Yes", "no", "cancel", it would be nice to use arrows and enter buttons on a keyboard and not a mouse. Right now arrows don't work.
6 votesJust a quick note that because these are button elements, you can tab or shift+tab to move forwards and backwards between the options.

Adding Shelf Check Requests to the Picklist
In our system of 33 branch locations, we often receive system-wide email requests to complete checks of the stacks for items customers claim to have returned but that are still on their accounts.
It would be helpful if Item Records had an additional "Action" option that allowed staff to select "Request Shelf Check". The item would then populate on every branch's picklist with a unique icon next to it, and there would be a checkbox at the top of the list, similar to "INN-Reach Only", that would allow staff to narrow the list to what was shelf check requested by…

Add Global Search to Leap UI to locate features
There are SOO many features and so much functionality in Leap, but sometimes it is hard to find them.
Today, I was looking for the Patron Import feature in Leap 7.8, I couldn't find it. Turns out it is under Background Processing.
This request to add a Feature Search to Polaris that is present across several websites and applications that allow you to search by typing part or all of a feature name and allows to you find that without having to dig through a bunch of Menus.

Add a shortcut to print out patron barcode in Leap
When staff opens a patron's record, add a shortcut feature that allows them to print out patron barcodes. This will really help when someone comes in and don't have their library card with them, so wants to get their barcode information

Improve Visual UI of Leap screens
Many screens in Leap are awash with 1px borders, which make it difficult to visually distinguish different areas of the system because of the "noise".
While there are lots of ares for UI improvement across Leap, this one might be an easy win, as shown in the side by side screenshots.

Add Power Search features to Leap's OmniSearch
The usefulness of the OmniSearch box in Leap would be greatly enhanced by the addition of operators and Power Search (CCL) features so an experienced Polaris user could execute their search right away, in the OmniSearch, and get the results back in a Find Tool. As it is, if I want to search for, say, an item record, I need to:
- Click Find to launch the Find Tool
- Change the search type to Item Records
- Change whatever parameters I need to change after that.
- Maybe add a filter or two and then apply those filters
- Go back to the Find…

INN-Reach Check In of transferred items
When using the INN-Reach Check In option in Polaris we would like it to display where the item is being transferred to. This can be done with a pop up display to acknowledge the transfer location or displaying it on the check in log after check in happens.
Currently staff notice status went to transferred and need to open up the request to see where the patron chose to switch their request to.
We know we can have Polaris print the ILL transit slip but we prefer not to waste the paper to basically quickly see where to send it.

More information on ILL
On the information page for an ILL, there should be the ability to see what staff have interacted with the ILL or if a patron has made a change. We had an ILL get cancelled before it arrived to our library, but we can't tell if it was a staff initiation or a patron one. In the record for a regular item, I can see who has done what with a hold. This would be useful for follow up.

Add Call Number to Item Information on Account Tab
Staff are requesting that the call number be added to items that are billed on the account tab in the patron page. Right now, the main item information is Barcode/Title/Organization [branch] so they have to click to the item to see the call number when they do a shelf check. Adding the call number to this page will help staff work more efficiently by skipping having to look it up on another page.

INN-Reach Returning Transit Receipts
We would like to request that transit slips print for INN-Reach items that have been borrowed by our patrons and need to be returned. When these items are checked in, no transit slips print for us to easily return them to the lending libraries. We came from Sierra, where this was standard. Adding the return transit receipt would streamline our workload back to what it was before migration as we won't have to look up these codes manually. It will also help staff recognize that the returned item is not ours and needs to go back to another library.

Send patrons a notification when holds go into Not Supplied status
Unless patrons are regularly monitoring their account (some don't even do this at all) they would have no idea when their holds go into Not Supplied status. Having a notification for this would alert them to take some sort of action (try to reactivate if possible, order another edition/version, contact the library for other options).

Provide alert when staffer selects a location different from that a workstation is associated with when logging into Leap.
Despite constant reminders, we have issues with substitute staff who cover at various locations logging in under the wrong branch. It would be great if Leap could have a pop up box, requiring confirmation to proceed, that alerts the staffer if the workstation they are logging in on is associated with a location other than the login branch.

Allow incremental Claim Count reset
Reset Claim Count is currently all or nothing. We need the ability to reduce the claim count incrementally. This would help in situations where we actually find a bona fide claim return on our shelf for a customer who otherwise has a pattern of making false claims. We want to be able to clear that incident from the claim count without having to reset to zero.

Include ‘Patron Statistical Code’ in Leap Patron Information Panel
Current Situation:
We currently have an unwieldy number of Patron Codes, which we aim to streamline by shifting toward greater use of Patron Statistical Classes. This is possible because many of our existing Patron Codes have minimal or no functional differences. However, Patron Statistical Classes are not currently displayed within Leap’s Patron Info (‘I’ button) panel, requiring extra steps for staff who frequently need quick access to this detail regardless of which patron registration view they are currently in.Suggested Enhancement:
Add the Patron Statistical Code directly below the Patron Code within the Leap patron information (‘I’) panel. This would…4 votes -
Putting hindered holds more prominent so all holds get processed in a timely manner
There are lots of things that can go wrong with holds fulfillment. From things remaining too long in the RTF, to holds that were item specific, and now the item record has been deleted, holds on bibs where all items are restricted from filling bibs, holds where the item has been shipped months ago, holds where the volume-level hold information is incorrect.
While there are reports that some libraries run for this, those are not "front and center" in most workflows for ALL libraries to be aware of them and be taking action to handle them.
About the best solution…

Make it easier to filter the list of SQL Searches in Find Tool
We have dozens of SQL searches, however it can be hard to find them. They are presented in an alphabetical list, but over the years our naming isn't always consistent. It would be great if you could filter the name drop-down like you filter can in other areas of Leap.
So, for example, if I typed "volume" it would show many any SQL search with Volume in the name. Bonus points might be if we could also be searching some of the SQL search contents itself because maybe I want to find all SQL searches that query a particular field…

Increase customizability of check out receipts, to include graphic or image
We have locations that would like greater options for customizing checkout receipts. In particular, they would like to add an image at the bottom -- a library logo, or a graphic version of the library name, or a periodically changeable "word bubble" graphic promoting upcoming activities at the library.
