  1. We'd like to see the date of dated notes be displayed on search results, in a record set, and also available as criteria in a Simply Report search. We'd like to use this tool for things like specific waiver expiration dates that do not coincide with patron expiration dates, among other things. By displaying the date in the search results we'll be able to quickly take a bulk action based on dates.

  2. There are times when staff will have a split screen when working in a patron account (ex: puling patron account info to fill out a separate form), but with how the screen looks in that function, it can be difficult to navigate. Particularly because the left hand menu gets interlaid over the information fields. Ideally, the image on the screen would adjust with the size of the screen- allowing for a (smaller version) of the full screen to be viewable or at least the ability to scroll over or down more easily.

  3. While Selfcheck Item Blocks, Patron Blocks, and the Patron/Material Type table rules can be edited and applied at any organizational level, the Selfcheck Material Types table appears to only be editable from the system level. In the PolarisSA, it is only available at the system level. In the client, it can be edited from any org, but the changes apply across the system. This is an area where there are likely to be different requirements at the library or even branch level, it would be very helpful to be able to adjust it as needed.

  4. Enable the pick list to prioritize filling holds in floating collections from branches where the number of items on the shelf at that location is the highest and/or over the load limit for that collection.

  5. Currently, when checking in, if you have the barcode box selected, you can click Enter on the keyboard to RFID scan. But, when you have to print a receipt, even if you click Enter to just choose yes, the focus doesn't go back to the barcode box so you have to mouse back over.

This is a minor but constant annoyance. In the desktop staff client, F9 was the keyboard shortcut to trigger RFID scans, so it didn't matter what part of the app was in focus.

  7. Blocking a patron from being able to place holds when holds unclaimed reaches a set limit/threshold within 6 months would be beneficial. There is a great deal of staff time and financial resources that gets wasted when items on hold shelves never get picked up and checked out. The block could auto-clear after a set time period.

  8. We use Microsoft Edge for Leap, and use Edge's password manager to remember the Leap login password.

When staff open a patron record and reset a patron's password, the browser thinks we are resetting the password for Leap and asks if we want to update the Leap login password (see attached screenshot). Staff sometimes click "Update" on this prompt, not realizing that this is changing the stored login password for Leap. Staff are then unable to login to Leap the next day because the browser populates the Leap login page with the wrong password.

This popup should not be appearing…

  9. Enhancement Request: Add the ability to mark a Picklist Pending item as “Not Found” while keeping the item in a pending status.

    Current Challenge:
When staff are unable to locate an item on the Picklist Pending report, there is no way to indicate that a search was completed and the item was not found. As a result, staff cannot easily communicate to follow-up staff that the item requires a second search.

While the Ask Later feature exists, it is not an effective solution for this scenario because it removes the item from the local Picklist Pending list and places it…

  10. We just were made aware that for patrons who are set up to receive mailed notices, that long overdue items are not automatically marked as Lost as other items are- they will only be marked as Lost and charged to the patron AFTER you run the Billing Notices. This is not something we were ever made aware of and only were told when we happened to notice a patron had items with a due date in 2024 on their account. This feels ridiculous and like an unnecessary step in an otherwise automated process. My library does not mail out billing…

  11. When doing bulk check-in, rather than importing a file that has probably been exported from a record set, it would be much faster and easier to have the option to simply select an item record set and have the items it contains checked in.

  12. Hi there,

When both Notes and Dated Notes are enabled, please just display them under one tab. It's tedious to have to check both tabs (notes for legacy notes, dated notes for new ones). It'd be better to be able to see all notes in one place.

    Thanks!

  13. Library's will benefit by being able to restrict patrons who reached specific number limit of a material type claim returns/never had from being able to borrow additional material type of the same type.

  15. It's great being able to bulk-add records to a record set, but it would also be helpful to be able to bulk-remove records from a record set based on either another record set, or an Excel file.

Today in larger record sets it can be a pain to remove a medium to large amount of records. Our staff may work with 10,000+ entry record sets, and need to remove records meeting certain criteria that isn't visible in the fields when viewing a record set. This idea would give a user the flexibility to fill a separate record set based on…

  16. Library staff would like to see cover images in the search results of the Find tool of Leap when they are looking to place holds for a patron. They can see the cover image if they go into the bib record, but not in the search results page (which is just a list).

  17. There have been many times when we've needed to know which specific copy(barcode) is in transit to fill a hold. Currently the only option seems to be going thru each item record to see which is attached to the customer record. Very annoying and time consuming. Perhaps on the Holds Queue screen could include a column (Item Assigned) to list the barcode filling the hold when a hold has been trapped. Or on the Hold Request screen, on the Satisfied By menu a indicator of which item is being used for that hold. Or both.

  18. PATRON REGISTRATION – LEAP & PAC, control over menu option displays
Allow control over what options show for Notices Address, Notification Option, and Text Messaging Phone on Leap and through Patron Registration via the PAC. Being able to remove menu items that don’t apply would solve notice issues. The drop down menus that list None and other non-system options create notification issues that could be avoided with control over these settings.

  19. Our consortium still uses the Polaris staff client for a couple of functions - primarily for offline circulation during upgrades and emergency outages (loss of internet or urgent server maintenance). For this reason, most senior circulation staff have to have the "Access patron import" permission as that controls access to the Bookmobile offline upload process. But we don't want all senior circulation staff to have the ability to import patron records - we want that to be limited to a very small group of staff who have been cleared to handle student data files (and have the approved secure file…

  20. Currently, item condition information is put in the Free Text Block. However, that information can be overwritten (and lost) if the item becomes part of a record set that is universally updated. As it's important to know item condition issues, it would be great if the Physical Condition block could be a pop-up when it includes information.
