1. SAML login page customization

   The SAML login page with the option to choose SAML or Library login is very basic and does not convey information to patrons concerning the choice. In addition, the customization have limited options and are only available to Innovative support.

   The proposed idea is to provide more customization options for this page and open these customizations to customers through a self-service feature. In addition to the current options available to Innovative such as logo changes and colors, the SAML login page should have options to add a block of text for instructions using HTML so that links could be included. Or at the very least, provide an option to link to another page (or popup) that provides additional login information.

   The Sierra May 2026 release includes the ability for libraries to customize the SAML login pages using files available through the Web Master function in the Sierra client.

2. Ability to restart the CAS login

   Sometimes the CAS login to Sierra fails. Either the page is inaccessible, or we see an LSE-OA-Error-2 from our use of OpenAthens authentication to Sierra. The only solution available is to us is to reboot the Sierra application server. This is inconvenient since staff have to log out of their activities.

   It would be useful if there was an option in the Restart a Terminal section of Sierra to restart the CAS service. This would hopefully clear up the error and not require a server reboot.

   Restarting the CAS server is available in the Admin App as part of Back End Management under SAML configuration.
