Courtesy Notice Phone Call
We have 140,000 patrons with a notice preference set to telephone, which currently means they receive notifications for holds & overdues. It would speak more to equity of service if they were able to receive courtesy notices for items that are either nearly due or have been renewed through Sierra's autorenewal process by phone, just as those whose notice preference is set to e-mail do.
This idea will be reviewed by the product management team for consideration in an upcoming release.

Providing equity of services is important. Utilizing autorenewal has had the unintended consequence of our customers being less aware of their true due dates. The courtesy notice allows customers to be aware of items that did not get renewed for whatever reason and know that they are due before they go overdue.
