Include scannable barcode with Patron Profile information
With support ending for the MyLibrary! App, we will be encouraging patrons to use our mobile-friendly Vega Discover Catalogue in a web browser on their device. One thing that will be missed is the ability to click "Show Card" to display a scannable barcode for checking out with staff or at a Self Checkout station. Currently, the barcode number is included in the patron profile but it would be great to add a scannable barcode image there as well.

We have near weekly suggestions from patrons for a "digital library card." We'd love to see something like that in Vega Discover's Account Portal! Our patrons would be overjoyed at this possibility.
We are also not looking forward to fielding questions about the barcode image that isn't really a barcode, and would also like to see that removed - but hopefully replaced with a real, working barcode! :)

We've never had a scannable barcode for our patrons, but since it is so common with other systems people use, they are starting to ask for it. This would be a great feature.

A good portion of our customers like to use a barcode from their phone for checkout, so that they do not need their card on hand.

Yes, this would be super helpful. We have patrons that are very confused about the barcode image and it's distracting to have there if it doesn't work. Please consider this or remove the barcode image.

Please enable this or provide the ability to remove the barcode image. Customers are trying to scan their laptops and other devices at the self checkouts because they think this is scannable.
