Option to suppress holds postition in queue in patron account
We would like to have the option to suppress the patron's holds position in the queue from displaying. We don't have it display in our current PAC and we don't want it to display in Vega either due to it being misleading since the algorithm prioritizes a library's own patrons first which often changes the order.

Translation of "This hold can not be frozen"
This message appears when trying to freeze a reserved material that is in transit or has already arrived at the reservation shelf. Our Vega is in Swedish so we wish that this message can translate to Swedish and other languages.

Displaying additional bibliographic information (Notes, Table of Contents, etc.) in Vega search records/results.
Right now, our library has to go through multiple steps to see useful information (like table of contents) or cannot see some detailed information (such as bib notes that we use to give customers/staff additional information about titles.)
For example, when someone clicks on a title, you then have to select the “i” to display the item’s listings, and then click again to see an items table of contents. It would make the most sense for everything that is in the details, be included in that initial edition display.
And similarly, we are not able to see the item’s 500a…

Export reading history
Our customers want the ability to export their reading history. There should be options in the format it comes out in, including csv/excel.
They want this because they keep their own records due to our titles getting deleted after withdrawal, so their Vega list is no longer accurate for all their reading.

Context of strings
When editing the Manage Translations strings, it would be helpful to know where we could look at the context for strings and/or confirm that a change was implemented.
For example, there are various "GET IT" strings, such as:
"getFromAmazon": "Get from Amazon",
"getIt": "GET IT",
"getItBtn": "get it",
"getItem": "Get Item",
"getMaterial": "Get Material",
"holdGetIt": "Get It"It would be helpful to have clarity on where/the context in which each of these is used.

Call Number Should Appear in Lists/"For Later" and easier way to print the list
Super frustrating to not be able to create a book list for displays or patrons needing a large amount of materials on a certain subject, and also not being able to easily print the list with the call number included. If there is an easier way to do this, please help me out: leticiag@harvard-diggins.org

Ability to add to the side bar
Similar to PowerPac when we could add links promoting things like suggest a purchase.

Separate sign in window when patrons log into account
This will allow us to directly link to a sign in page from our website rather than send them to catalog where they need to click login again. It was something we had in the Polaris PowerPAC. It also helped with e-sources since some of these databases require validation and it would need somewhere to send them to login.

Migrate lists from one patron barcode to another
Patrons replace library cards frequently. They get lost or damaged. Patrons move from one home library to another within the system. Patrons get a new card when libraries offer new designs.

Polaris Item Level "Material Types" as a facet in Discover
We would like a refinement facet that uses the ITEM LEVEL "material types" from Polaris that are more specific than the current bib level Types of Material used in the Format Facet.

Vega Home Page: Store Images for re-use in admin
We often re-use images for our Vega home page, specifically the Hero, and there is no way to quickly access those images - you are forced to upload again and again. For example, maybe we opt to promote/use one of our Hero images every 3 months for a particular service. When you go to promote that service again, you have to try and find the artwork you stored locally again, upload. It seems like this could be store somewhere, maybe make it optional when you upload to keep/store the file (so you could say "no" for something that is a…

Can't see how many Overdrive copies exist
When I check to see how many copies of an Overdrive title the library has, you can only see how many holds have been placed on that title, but not how many copies there are. This causes confusion because it seems like the library has no copies of that title. In the attached picture example, you can see that the 'Atomic Habits' eAudiobook has 48 holds on it, but it says there are no copies. There are actually 5 copies. This issue is true with every Overdrive title, except for when the title is available to check out.

Resolve eContent not rolluping up due to articles
Most OverDrive titles beginning with an article (The, A, An) do not rollup properly due to Metadata not identifying a skip on these characters. As a main feature of Discover, it is frustrating that such a large amount of titles do not rollup with properly cataloged physical materials.

(Vega Homepage) Allow Kids' View to show particular "Literary Form" if chosen
During our user testing, we received numerous inquiries from both children and parents, expressing a desire for the option to access both fiction and nonfiction content within the limited search view designed for kids. This feature may assist them in distinguishing whether the material is intended for leisure or educational purposes at a quick glance. This shouldn't be turned on by default but should be able to be toggled for libraries willing to make that change.

hoopla
Further customize Hoopla integration to allow segmentation of collection content.
Hoopla doesn't do Top 100s or Top 500s anymore as of January 2024. What they can do is "Top Load", which is popular titles across each format (about 85,000 records) and includes top DEI and non-English language titles.
Libraries also want to segment to just Juvenile, just audiobooks, etc.10 votes -
Include Local Subject Added Entry - Form Subdivision (690 $v)
690 $v is currently ignored upon ingest, causing Local Subject entries to disregard subheadings in Concept displays. We're attempting to create showcases based on saved concept searches for some of our local collections, rather than needing to manually updated showcases as new items are added. Subcollections with subject heading like Diversity Collection -- Asian/Pacific Islander literature, Diversity Collection -- Latinx literature, and Diversity Collection -- LGBTQIA+ literature all display under the concept Diversity Collection in Discover.

Clickable/Interactable Library Information within the refine menu
One of our member libraries mentioned this as a possible feature request for Vega Discover.
They stated, "A great would be if you can click the library name to display item availability if under the location drop down if you can also display the library address and phone number. This would make it easy to click the phone number to call the library to check on real time status of an item for patrons etc. Very useful for staff and patrons!
Let's also have the library address be a clickable link that hops into google maps to navigate to the…

Display ALL series
Vega only displays the first series tag (490, 800|t, 830) in a bibliographic record. There are many scenarios where a title may have multiple series tags for good reason. ALL series tags should display. A work may be titled the Boxcar children collection 3 and contain various volumes of the Boxcar children series, each tagged individually. To only display the first series tag (vol. 89) is misleading. There are also many instances of a popular numbered series also being part a publisher genre series (example for Iced by Felix Francis: Francis novels ; bk. 10 and Thorndike Press large print…

Index genre headings
We have several customers that use genre headings (655 field) to find materials. For example, "video recordings for the hearing impaired" helps deaf and hard-of-hearing customers locate DVDs with closed captioning. This is not a searchable field in Vega and there does not seem to be a way to find this information anywhere on the record.
