Patrons receive a confirmation that includes a " Manage Booking" box. One of our challenges is that we don't know when a patron has checked in to the room, or if they leave the room early.

Right now, patrons don't have to stop by the desk before or after their reservation. And, if patrons leave early without telling us we can't modify the reservation to free up space for another person. In the new VEGA system could a check - in and check - out button be added to the patron's reservation confirmation?

Something like a button or QR code that they have to activate to confirm they are in the room. If there is no check - in within 30 minutes, if the patron has not "managed" the booking to update their arrival time, then the system can release the unused time slot for a new booking.

Same thing with leaving the room, perhaps a button or QR Code in the reservation that has to be activated when the patron is leaving the room with no plans to return, or a QR code in the room that a patron can scan that is linked to their reservation. When they exit the room for good if it is before the original end time, then the booking can be canceled to make room for someone else.

Could this idea be added to the program?
