Allow bib bulk change steps to be applied to import profiles
Imagine the possibilities if we could automate the process of bulk changes to bib records as part of an import profile.
Other ILS systems offer robust manipulation of bib records upon import, but this is missing from Polaris.
By allowing bib bulk changes to be stored in templates, just like item bulk changes, we can streamline the process and save valuable time. Imagine having a set of predefined steps for importing bibs from specific sources or of certain record types. It would ensure consistency and accuracy, eliminating manual effort.
- Allow bib bulk changes to be stored in templates like item bulk changes: https://ideas.iii.com/forums/951742-ils-polaris/suggestions/46446556-bibliographic-bulk-change-template
- Allow a bib bulk change template to be specified as part of the import profile.

We would really like the ability to have bib bulk change templates. Catalogers frequently make the same changes, such as adding local subject headings or adding/editing fixed fields, and being able to make use of a template to automatically have those changes occur instead of going through all the steps of entering the information would be much more efficient. Having access to these templates as part of the import profile would be a huge benefit. Even though there are other programs where this can be done, such as MARCEdit, being able to do this as part of the import process directly in Polaris streamlines the workflow. Mistakes would not be an issue if using bib bulk change templates either.

This would save us so much time and make it so much easier to cross train staff on importing records.
