Lost and Deleted Items
Today I helped a customer who had three Lost (and billed) items on her account. The items were all designated as Deleted as well. She claimed that she had returned two of the three items through our Automated Materials Handler (AMH) some time ago. The items were set to lost in 2022. The third item she had and returned today. This item having been deleted shows up in Leap as a "no matching record" (NMR) item. And that got me thinking that she may very well have returned the other two items through our AMH and because they read as NMR our sort staff would have had zero clue that lost items were being returned. All NMR items go to me, and I get to put them back into the collection. I would like to know if there is a way to determine if the item is tied to any sort of fines when I am returning them to the collection. I know that individual items have a section that shows any record set they might be in so it's possible that something could be possible here.
