  1. I would love to be able to create a Record Set of Holds. There are times when we need to bulk edit hold data because of library closures, etc. Being able to bulk change that data and store that data would be immensely helpful.

  2. Currently, there is no way to adjust receipts. We only have the option of which fields and we are not allowed to put those fields in an order that suits our workflow. We would love to see Leap have a WYSIWYG editor so each library can configure font size, fields, etc. for each receipt.

  3. It would be useful to have in the item history when a hold was activated. I had an instance where an item was put on hold for the wrong account, and it would have been useful to see who had placed the hold or where it had been added. I figure you can see this from the hold record, but the staff member who had received the accidental holds cancelled them before we got a chance to look at it.

  4. If an item has a "lost" status, and is returned damaged we are unable to change the status to "damaged" via the check-in damaged option (must be in/out for damaged check-in to be used). This would be helpful for situations where the patron returns an item that was declared lost (either automatically by being +30 days overdue or manually) and then later found and returned to the library via drop box, to be able to demonstrate the item was returned damaged with no previous poor condition notes on the item.

  5. Our system does not currently have late fees on most of the collection. But for the collections we do, we have a max that we will charge in late fees for items returned on the same day per patron. It would be nice if we could set up for the system to automatically waive fees for overdue items that exceed that amount.

  6. Our staff complete weekly and monthly checks on hold requests to ensure our customer holds are being fulfilled in a timely manner.

    To do so, staff check the hold status (Active vs Inactive), age of the hold against the hold type (item or bib level), number of available copies, and number of holds in the bib level queue. This requires staff to open item/bib records and return to the Request Manager list frequently, and can mean the review lasts over several days, making it hard to track where they were in the queue when they had to pause in the…

  7. As we move libraries away from the client to Leap, they are finding a few things that are missing that made their lives easier. One is to be able to choose how a search is sorted prior to the search happening.

  8. Polaris should be able to generate barcodes outside of self-registration. Sometimes you want to generate barcodes without relying on a physical card that already has a barcode printed on it. Polaris already can do this because it does it for self-registration cards. So it should be able to occur on demand.

  9. Bookmobiles move around. When customers get the holds notice, the address listed on the notice is usually the bookmobile home address. The customer shows up only to find that the bookmobile isn't home. We have pickup locations for the customer to choose from in the PAC, but they do not have addresses assigned to them. If they did, we would want that address to be used on the holds notice. Can this be a LX starter and/or Polaris enhancement for Bookmobile.

  10. Our Library will soon no longer be offering phone notification. I'd like the ability added to remove notification types (Phone 1,Phone 2 etc) from the staff interface so a invalid choice is not longer available. However, we'd still like the ability to record that information in the patron registration if needed.

  11. In 7.7, we now have the option to do INN-Reach check in, which is phenomenal! It has sped up this process immensely, making for happier staff and patrons.

    However, the speed has brought with it some unexpected snags: The biggest at present being the color of the 'return uncirculated' toast as compared to normal INN-Reach processing.

When inputting information for an ILL request for a patron, our ILL clerk would like there to be a field where she can input the OCLC number of the item she is wanting directly into the hold request. That way when she exports the request, it will directly sync with the item she wants, without having to use ISBN.

  13. Currently, the only way to view pending holds for pickup at other libraries in Request Manager is in the Polaris Client. We would like this brought over to Leap. This idea would make the Request Manager in Leap and the client equal in terms of capabilities.

  14. It would be wonderful to be able to customize keyboard shortcuts per user.

    I don't typically use 90% of Polaris features, and the other 10% I use very frequently, and most of those features don't have any hotkeys associated with them.

  16. Please make it possible for offline Leap to display the patron name when their barcode is scanned for an offline checkout. This is available in toolbar offline, and I'm sure it would be tricky to configure, since Leap is browser-based, but we just used Leap offline for the first time during our latest upgrade, and the biggest comment I've received is the lack of the patron name during checkout.

  17. Currently, if I am checking a hold to a patron, there is a pop-up letting me know there are holds to check out. I would like that to not pop-up if the barcode I have scanned is one of the holds I am currently checking out. It is fine if it's not one of the holds, or the hold is at another location, but it is frustrating when I already have the holds in front of me.

  18. Could we have it so the close button within the Patron Registration follows you as you scroll down like the "Save", "Renew", etc do? I often find myself nowhere near the top when I am done with a customer account and have to navigate all the way back up just to close the record. I could see this also being useful in Bib records

  19. If staff attempt to check out an item with an "unexpected" status, such as Withdrawn, Unavailable, or Missing the checkout fails, with an error message "unexpected item status." Staff must check the item in to change its status to Available, and then check it out. This breaks the flow of the checkout transactions and causes a delay for the patron. It would be very helpful if we could specify in System Administration which statuses cause a complete failure of the checkout (the current rule for all of these statuses), which cause a warning message that staff can override, and which…

  20. Our ILL clerk would like to be able to see the due date for ILLs from the request manager, so she can make sure that the dates have been added correctly to these items. She currently has to go into each item individually to make sure they were correct.
