  1. When using the find tool basic search, we can use filters to narrow down criteria. After applying the criteria, if we select power search, the power search string is automatically created based on the filters. We can then modify the power search as desired.

    It would be very helpful if this could work in opposite way: that if we create a power search, but are wanting to then see the visual representation in the basic search filters, that we could move from power search to basic search with the criteria filled in in the filters.

  2. Receiving from the PO and printing workslips with one command.
    Or at least keep the check marks of the selected PO lines to receive and then to print slips to avoid selecting the same PO lines twice.

  4. Right now in the Polaris SIP environment, if you attempt to get patron information using a 63 message, but you put in the WRONG password, the patron accounts LAST ACTIVITY DATE will STILL be updated.

    We recently had a vendor that for some crazy reason, went through and was attempting a 63 message for all patron barcodes they had on file. This updated the last activity date for tens of thousands of patron accounts.

  5. When staff are placing individual holds for a patron Leap and the Desktop client allow staff to use the pickup branch as the branch where the staff member is logged in*. For libraries with centralized call centers it would be helpful to offer to use the patron's preferred branch when placing the hold request for the patron.

    Of course, this will need to be cleared indicated to the staff member what their preferred location is as they should still verbally confirm that is the location they want to use.

  6. Polaris supports a preferred pickup branch for patrons. This request is to extend that support to allow the patron to set a preferred pickup area.

    Many patrons prefer to 100% always use a particular pickup area, for example outside lockers. So, they shouldn't have to select that area everytime they make a request.

    This would allow them to set their own preferred pickup area the way they can set a preferred pickup branch. This preferred pickup area should also be used when the staff bulk places a title on hold for a batch of patrons, again the same way the…

  7. I would like to have the ability to edit the "Last Used Purchase Order Number" field. I have a FY** prefix attached to each PO I create and would like to restart the numbering at 1 at the beginning of each fiscal year. Currently, our Site Manager has to reset it for us.

  8. Be able to bulk add stat codes. Currently we can only add at the branch level manually because the library and system level tables are too large. This requires a manual change or contracting Polaris every time we want to add stat codes for all locations.

  9. It would be great to have a way in Leap to change the patron barcode and have it auto populate the "Former Barcode" field in a single step. Perhaps a button could be added underneath "Reset Password" for "Replace Barcode" that simply prompts the staff member to scan a new barcode number. Leap would then move the existing barcode to the "Former Barcode" field, and then populate the Barcode field will the newly provided number. Help us save a few steps! Thanks for the consideration.

  10. I would like to be able to have a particular hold become active after a different hold has become filled. This is particularly useful for customers who are engaged in a series and do not want them all at once, but do want them in order and want to place all the holds at the same time.

  11. Sometimes I have a lot of records open in the workform tracker, and it's a pain to have to go into each to close it. It would be useful to have a button I could quickly click to close them instead.

    In cases where a record has been modified it should generate a prompt about saving changes, and show you the record again in this case so it's clear what's being saved.

In the staff client if you accidentally have an item record open during a bulk change that includes that item, it will provide an error after the change happens and the change won't happen to the item record that was left open. There should be a warning that alerts the user to close the item record before they can make the bulk change.

  14. Now that we have the capability to do ad hoc bulk changes to item records from the bibliographic record in Polaris 7.6, we also need the ability to delete item records in bulk. The workflow in the Client includes the ability to select multiple item records ad-hoc, right click on them, and press delete (or undelete). Delete and undelete buttons should be added next to the Bulk Change button on the Local Items and All Items tabs of the bibliographic workform in Leap. An alternate option could be to add a delete option to the bulk change.

  15. Being a visual learner it is complicated to go from the icons in Polaris being a much larger size and being in color to what is shown in Leap. The icons in Leap are much smaller and have no color to differentiate them. For the sake of Accessibility purposes is there any way that the icons can be bigger and to add a pop of color to them in Leap. Attached are pictures of the icons in Polaris from the toolbar vs Leap.

  16. We've discovered the keyboard shortcuts in LEAP do not work when you have cap locks on. Our catalogers are a 50/50 split on those who always have cap locks on while they work and those who don't. I'd like to have the option available for those who find it easiest to catalog with the cap locks and use the shortcuts.

  17. The ability to create keyboard shortcuts to insert (paste) pre-defined text. Prior to the advanced marc editor added in Polaris 7.6, our catalogers were able to use the program QuickPaste in which we had lines and lines of pre-defined text often used in creating bib records. This was a huge time saver and this no longer works with marc editor.

    Some examples of text we programmed are as follows:
    Ctrl+Alt+B – opens a list of pre-defined text which our catalogers could select from when creating book records.

  18. We had a front-line staff member contact us because he was getting a "The domain, username or password is incorrect" error message when he tried to log in to Leap. Support was able to tell us that he was locked out because he had incorrectly typed his password five times. They confirmed that the error message that will be shown when this happens is "The domain, username or password is incorrect." Not only is that error message text factually untrue, it is identical to the error message that a staff person sees if their password actually IS being entered incorrectly.…

  19. Collection Agency Set Up: Can we add the ability to filter out patrons who already have a collection block when we send by item library? Due to financial reporting requirements, we have to send by item library but find many of our patrons end up with more than one collection block which we then need to remove.

  20. Library staff regularly have need to copy a customer's name from their Leap patron record into our room reservation system. Currently you cannot copy the name displayed in the leap patron record header but you can copy the barcode directly below. Clicking into registration isn't helpful as a copy option the name info is in separate fields.
