  1. When staff log out of Leap at the end of their shift, Microsoft prompts them to sign out of their Microsoft account. I think it confuses staff, they click on the prompt and then they get logged out of their Microsoft account. They then have to log back in and due to MFA need to get a code to log back in. This isn't ideal.

  3. In Simply Reports, some filter menus do not populate options until a library/branch is chosen (i.e. Shelf Location, Stat Code, Statistical Class). This is helpful for consortia because the menus only become populated with the options available at each selected branch(es), keeping the options to a manageable size.

    We would like to see this dynamic menu functionality applied to the Collection, Material Type, and Patron Code filters as well.

    Currently, our consortium has 55 Material Types, 57 Patron Codes, and 284 Collections to choose from in these menus, which becomes quite overwhelming for users and involves A LOT of tedious…

  5. We have a long list of vendors and would like to clean it up, removing any who we no longer purchase from. This can't be done because of the links and layers in Acquisitions to attached purchase orders and invoices. It would help with clutter if there was a way to delete these suppliers or hide them in some way.

  6. We would like the ability to made Collection a required field when adding item records. While we can instruct all of our members to have Collections selected as part of their templates, there is still the possibility of forgetting and having items that are missing a collection. Having a collection at minimum, and ideally collection and shelf location combination set on each item greatly helps wayfinding for the patrons, and we'd like Polaris to allow us to enforce selection of at least a Collection. Reviewing the process of integrating Cirriusimpact at our library, we've encountered a notable issue: patrons opting out of text messaging and staff needing to adjust their notifications accordingly. Currently, we're relying on CGS to send daily email alerts when someone opts out, but it would be more convenient to add a non-blocking note to the Polaris account visible to all staff. This would ensure everyone is aware of a patron's preference change and simplify the search for patrons with similar notification settings.

  10. We would like to have more enhanced data fields within SimplyReports in order to help users create reports that can fit their needs a bit better. For example, we recently ran into an issue where a staff member wanted a field that can indicate status descriptions for Lost/Unpaid or Lost/Accruing. In this case, it was explained that there would need to be a combination of patron account information, item status information and library settings needing to be available in order for this to work. Can possibly looked into for the future?

  11. Indian Trails Library has several members who own 2 properties in 2 different CCS Library areas. Several times now these member's accounts were merged due to other library staff in other libraries not looking at the member's notes. This upsets the members and is more work for library staff to recreate the other account.

  12. The Polaris Transactions database TransactionID is an int data type. This 2,147,483,647 means the biggest number supported by the database. In our busy system, we're about halfway through the available TransactionIDs as we're about to reach 1 billion. This field should be moved up to a bigint data type. Otherwise inserting new data will fail.

  13. It would be great if there was a way to at least see which library an accidentally cancelled INN-Reach item was going out to. Occasionally, staff inadvertently click No to keeping an INN-Reach customer on hold for an item instead of clicking Yes. This happened today during request list clean up away from the physical item. We'd like to contact the requesting library so they can replace the hold for their customer but, with the request completely gone,we cannot access that info. The way the PAC currently works, the three buttons on the right of each search result (Availability, Full Display, and Place Request) always appear if the bib is for a physical item, but only "Full Display" appears for e-resources. This indicates that the PAC already has the capability to suppress these buttons if conditions specific to the search result are met. It would be helpful if this ability could be expanded so that if all the items attached to a bib record for a physical item are not holdable, the "Place Request" button does not appear.   16. When using import profiles for EDI ordering you must add the "retain 020" field in order for the 020 to overlay onto an existing bib record when ordering additional copies. This is annoying because each time you reorder, another 020 line gets stamped into the bib - adding more lines for Cataloging staff to delete when the item comes in.

  17. Please add a link for the serials holding record to the bib record for serials, either under the Links menu or by displaying the serials record ID. Because the search box in Leap only retrieves bib records, often staff forget that they are looking at the bib record for a serial and so they have to perform a new search using the Find tool to get to the holding record.   19. Currently, receipt/slip configuration is hard-coded into Polaris system administration. Libraries are limited in what information they can add to a receipt or slip and do not have control over design elements in sys admin. Innovative does not recommend modifying the related SQL job to make changes there. It would be helpful to have greater flexibility and customization options for libraries, especially for hold and in-transit slips. For example, a library could configure in-transit slip information to match what is required by their library system's delivery service.

  20. In the 7.5 update, which introduces the ability to cancel items in "shipped" and "held" statuses, I suggest extending this cancellation privilege to staff members exclusively. When patrons cancel items that are on hold, those items are often already on the hold shelf, and the system's only notification to staff is by adding the item to the cancelled hold list.

    By allowing only staff to cancel holds, they could promptly remove the item from the shelf and cancel it directly, eliminating the need for setting an expiration date or other measures to force its expiration.
