SMS eReceipt
Allow for eReceipts to be sent via SMS and not traditional SMS-to-email methodology.

I completely agree with Eric that this functionality is not a feature request, but rather a necessity. The SMS-to-email gateways are deprecated, and continuing to send these SMS emails is problematic for our domain, let alone the frustration our patrons have when not receiving their requested eReceipts. I would be very disheartened if it takes a MEEP process to get SMS eReceipt working as it should be.

This is quickly become more of a "bug" than a feature request as the existing methods are no longer functional.

Getting undelivered txt reports and it's hard to determine where it's coming from--hopefully that will slow down quite a bit when this is enabled and we'll stop being concerned/following up one at a time with patrons.

I agree with this also. We should be able to manipulate what goes out to our patrons via SMS as well. Currently, in Polaris you can edit the strings in the language editor to say what you would like it to say and it's hard to get variables to work as well. This is going to be crucial going forward since most carriers if not all have done away with Email to SMS notifications.

Ditto to what Katie said below. Staff are still getting undelivered text reports which include patrons who've opted for texted ereceipts. Once we upgrade to 7.8, this will be the only notification/reminder that is still sent via email-to-text; all our other notices/reminders will be sent via SMS.

This is important to have with gateways no longer starting to work.
