Better Request Failed Message
Clearer wording for the "Request Failed" box that displays when a patron attempts to place a hold on an item for which they are already on the hold list (this is prohibited in our implementation). This version of the Request Failed box says "couldn't find suitable edition for the request." Despite the new green alert bar indicating the hold status of the item, this error box wording would not likely be intuitive to our patrons.
The version of the Request Failed box that displays when the item is currently on the hold shelf for that patron says "request denied - already on hold for or checked out to you." This wording (or something similar) seems like a better fit for the situation described above.

We are partnering with another library system and are not currently providing delivery between the two different library systems. It would be very helpful to be able to customize "Request Failed" messages as currently if our customer tries to place a hold on an item and tries to request the other library's pickup location then they just receive the "request failed" message and we would like to be able to indicate why they are unable to do this.

Can this be combined with https://ideas.iii.com/forums/951766/suggestions/48574910

Yes it would be great if it was customisable. We've had customers confused as they try to put requests on reference items, we need messaging that reflects that "Item requested is for Library Use Only, please ask a librarian for assistance.”?

We just went live with Vega on 12/20/2023 and we've had several complaints about this.
