Separate the Edition specific and non-specific Place Hold button editing in the translation file
Currently, in the translation file there's one spot to edit ALL Place hold buttons. This prevents us from, say, editing the button that applied to ALL editions to say perhaps "Place hold on any edition" and, perhaps, editing the edition specific button to say "Place hold on this edition". We would like these separated out for editing.

Move Overdrive Magazine API higher on the development list
Magazines borrowed directly from Overdrive show the confusing resource for title result instead of the magazine issue itself. An extra step of Get Issue is required to show the issue. This appears to be covered under the Vega Product portal - Overdrive Magazines. However that is listed under the Later category. Monarch is asking if this could be expedited due to the confusion it is causing to staff and patrons.

Resolve eContent not rolluping up due to articles
Most OverDrive titles beginning with an article (The, A, An) do not rollup properly due to Metadata not identifying a skip on these characters. As a main feature of Discover, it is frustrating that such a large amount of titles do not rollup with properly cataloged physical materials.
28 votesReleased with Dec 3rd code. Currently indexing to update all econtent for libraries. Expected to be fully reflected in customer catalogs by end of January at the latest.

Enable translations within Syndetics Unbound content
Within the Syndetics Unbound content, enable translations for data such as "other books in this series" or Subjects, etc.

You can supplement and alter these in the syndetics admin. Reach out to support for help and access if needed!

Pickup areas in Vega Discover
Please enhance the functionality of pickup areas in Leap/PAC according to this idea: https://ideas.iii.com/forums/951742-ils-polaris/suggestions/47671613-allow-enabling-disabling-of-pickup-areas-per-libra

Social Sharing of Lists
This is a combination of 2 ideas: Patrons would like to share lists they've created, and some patrons like to "Follow" others. We could create a new world of library "influencers" such as what is on social media, by having "Library Influencers" - those with over x number of followers. Patrons could select who they want to follow, and lists could be shared over social platforms.

StackMap - VEGA support
StackMap is an indoor mapping web application that helps patrons easily locate library resources including material, subjects wayfinding, rooms and public PCs in real-time. At this time, VEGA does not seem to support this application, but it does work in the default Polaris catalog.
17 votesVega Discover Premium and Consortia versions support an integration with StackMap, an indoor mapping web application that helps patrons easily locate library resources.
Vega Discover Premium and Consortia libraries can reach out to support@stackmap.com to request the required script to embed into their custom header code.
Please reach out to your Account Manager if you would like to know more about Discover Premium or Discover Consortia.

(Vega Homepage) Allow libraries more padding and spacing control between content
At present, we employ code adjustments in our customized header to reduce padding/spacing across Vega Discover's homepage. It would be highly beneficial if there were built-in options within Vega Homepage themes or experience settings to directly control and minimize this spacing. For reference, I've attached a screenshot showcasing our customized control with yellow highlights compared to the default spacing highlighted in magenta.

(Vega Homepage) Events component does not automatically arrange in chronological order
The events component on the homepage currently does not automatically arrange events in chronological order. Additionally, there is no option for manual reordering, and modifying the sequence necessitates deleting preceding events to position a new item ahead of another.
3 votesUpdates were made that allow events to be re-ordered manually.
Libraries with Vega Program integration can set Dynamic events rows that update automatically and are in chronological order.

(Vega Homepage) Allow us to customize themed home page backgrounds/colors
As Vega Discover Premium customers, we value a personalized approach. While we currently appreciate the Comic/Steampunk or modern designs, our goal for the future is to have the autonomy to customize this aspect ourselves.

Renew All Option
Allow patrons to "select all" to renew all eligible items from their checkout screen. Patrons with multiple items (sometimes 40 or more) have to select each individual item to renew. A "renew all" or "select all" feature would be helpful.

Update holds protocol
Current holds protocol as of November, 2023, prioritizes checked-out items owned by pickup library over items on shelf at other libraries. Give us flexible options to prioritize holds to suit our consortium's policies.

Customise spacing between facets
We would like to be able to reduce the spacing between facets which was fixed in the "Refine Results Display Fix" so that more results could display on a page, as the space from a look and feel perspective is too big.

Display series volume
Include volume of series in record display (490 $v). Currently, only the series and the semicolon prior to $v displays in Vega Discover. Including the series number would make it easier for patrons to find the volume they are looking for.

Item Status Mapping
We are running into an issue where our Item Status Mapping descriptions set in Polaris are not lining up with Vega. Vega looks like it is displaying the Item Status Name in the description column. It would be super nice to be able to change Mapping description in Vega like you can do in Polaris. Just a slight issue we have experienced and we are trying to figure out a work around for it. Thanks!

relevancy towards newer titles
Patrons are not finding the latest popular titles. patrons want to searc forJohn Grisham and immediately see the most "currently" relevant title- the one everyone is looking for, the one people are talking about and want to get their name on. Maybe it isnt even published. In Encore this is the first title you see, in Vega you wont find it for a bit.
Relevancy must consider date of publication over the number of copies.

Where are we??? - we own stuff VEGA!!!
In a large consortia the locations with smaller collections are not showing up. Only 40 sites show. This means the large libraries with more content are always displayed, and the big sites always get top billing. Our little librarys deserve the same exposure (maybe more). In the location facet all libraries should be listed if the result set includes content from their collections. Locations should be listed alphabetically and not by the number of items in the set.
