  1. With over 70 libraries connected to the app in our consortium, it can get tedious to have to click "more" to find the user's home library for each catalog item. Ideally, if a material is available at the home library it should be displayed first.
Using the "Limit to" search option does not help in this case, as search results still include materials that are not currently available for checkout but are owned by that "limit to" library.

  2. Put the number of copies and holds below the "Place Hold" button.

  3. We've noticed that the shelf location and collection of items does not appear in the app, just branch and call number. Is there a way to add these? It will help patrons find items, especially in our largest branch.

  4. A way to improve Innovative Mobile would be the addition of a "Share" button attached to individual material. This would allow patrons to share content they find in the application among each other. This type of enhancement would be incredibly helpful to multiple groups of patrons, such as book clubs, learning groups and patron to patron engagement. This enhancement could help increase patron application usage as well.

An example of this button from fontawesome is the share-from-square icon: https://fontawesome.com/icons/share-from-square?f=classic&s=solid

If the share button copied a link to the clipboard of the device that clicked the button, with the link leading…

  5. If we scan an ISBN, and it's not found, the app should return users to the Scan Book landing page. It currently returns users to the main landing page.

  6. We recently discovered that some of our bib records with only order records attached are not eligible to be placed on hold through the Innovative Mobile app. I was told by Innovative that this is because the Sierra API is only able to see order records that are specifically in the "o - On Order" status. We use a few different order record statuses as part of our normal workflows (e.g. "a - Fully Paid"), but we still want patrons to be able to place holds on these items using the mobile app, regardless of order record status.

  7. The Innovative Mobile app currently holds onto all successful and unsuccessful self checkout attempts as "receipts". The receipts are in the My Account area and can very much add up to being a lot of entries over time. It would be less cluttered and better if the self checkout receipts retained were only kept for 7-14 days and then disappeared off of the account. Ideally, a patron could also delete unsuccessful self checkout attempts off the account right away.

We'll communicate with customers as testing environments are created for them.

  9. Host Innovative Mobile App on Amazon AppStore as well as Google Play and Apple Store. Patrons often have Amazon Kindles for e-reading so it makes sense for them to use our library apps on them as well.

  10. Right now, if a patron replaces a lost library card, they lose their items in My Lists and any linkages with other accounts. Those items should be tied to the permanent ID of the patron record (patron ID in Polaris, not sure what it is in Sierra) so they are retained when the barcode is replaced. Even though they are not stored in the ILS patron record, PATRONS consider things like their lists and linked accounts to be part of their "library account" and are frustrated to lose that information for what feels like no reason to them.

  11. Hi,
Many libraries have changed the term "concept" to "subject" in Vega Discover.
Please enable the ability for libraries to batch change "concept" to "subject" in Vega Mobile.

(The term "concept" appears as a facet in mobile app).

    Thanks,
    Elizabeth

  12. Some materials may have multiple vendor copies of eBooks, eAudiobooks, etc. It would be useful for the patrons to be able to see which vendor they're tapping onto while searching without having to utilize the "search in" option. Currently, patrons would have to open the Catalog Item page and locate the vendor information.

  13. Allow push notifications by individual branches rather than systemwide. When we have a single branch closed due to facilities issues or some other factor, it would be helpful to be able to send out the closure notice only to patrons registered at that branch, rather than spamming every patron throughout the entire system.

  14. Polaris supports PayPal’s Payflow Link payment gateway for credit card payments from Polaris PowerPAC and Mobile PAC. We would rather stick with one vendor for this than have to create a Stripe account as well for processing on the mobile app. Either allow us Stripe over on Polaris/Vega or Paypal over on the mobile app.

  15. The Mobile app currently looks like it does not allow any social media sharing. There are links to X, Facebook, etc. but we do not see an integrated way to share a call number, ISBN, or Title link to the catalog that can be shared on those platforms. We would like the ability to click on a social icon that would transmit a brief info of the item to be posted into the customers social app or email message.

  16. It would be great if we could customize font and typeface (bold headings or increase text size, for example) for items in the app. Some of the text is quite light/thin, and it would be ideal to enhance for better contrast.

  17. Right now we have people complaining that the barcode number is too small to read. We have been advising turning to landscape but it would be nice if the barcode number were larger in portrait mode or if you could pinch the number to zoom in.

  18. It would be helpful if the format list in the app would adjust based on holdings and suppress any formats for which there are no holdings. For example, we have no globes cataloged in our system, so we would like globe to never show up as a format option, since we don't have any. It just clutters up the format list if the ones for which there are no holdings are also included.

  19. In Vega Mobile admin, we pull usage statistics [Mobile App > View Activity]. The results are given in tables displayed on the screen (see image).

Request: Can these be formatted so that we can Export the data into a CSV or Excel file?

Right now, I have to copy/paste as text the various tables, then pop them into Excel, where I like to have a month-to-month comparison setup. This is extra work.

  20. Patrons should be able to see the hold suspension end date in their holds list. Currently if you select a suspend hold date in the app, there is no way to see that date once you submit. It just says inactive and queue position 0. If patrons can't remember when they requested the item to be placed back on hold, they have to resume the hold and then suspend it again.
