  2. A customer contacted us recently and asked if we could possibly add a feature where lists can be sorted alphabetically by title. Since this functionality isn't currently available in the API, I wonder if it could be added?

  3. Details on items going in-transit, enroute, and/or transferred are not kept within the Polaris Transactions database. Instead, the data is only kept within the Polaris database. This means if an item is deleted, then statistics on it going in-transit/transferred/enroute are lost. The enhancement request here would be to include that information into the Polaris Transactions database.

    This could also serve as a generic enhancement request for increased reporting abilities within Simply Reports. It seems there are a lot of things our libraries would like reports on that are not possible to create within Simply Reports. It almost always involves historical…

  4. In the Polaris client (we're on 7.6) we would love to be able to un-delete "half-deleted" bib records (any in "Delete" status).

    We receive a monthly report of "Bibs without Item Records" for final weeding and we're finding many "half-deleted" bibs where staff have deleted the final copy on a record and clicked "delete" in the pop-up instead of "suppress from PAC".

    We would like to be able to bulk change these Delete-status records back to Final so we can extra needed marc data (OCLC #s, primarily) and then properly double-delete them.

  6. When checking-in an issue of a Professional serial, Leap will give a notification that a route list exists for that title. Leap will not link the new issue to the route list or print the list. Currently, my library has to use staff client when checking in Professional serials. It would be very helpful if this feature would be added to Leap.

  7. When checking out a material and the the patron has history turned on, a pop-up appears saying this patron had out this item with a date or a number of days ago, so the patron doesn't check it out and immediately return it, especially would be helpful with ILL requests.

  8. Today I helped a customer who had three Lost (and billed) items on her account. The items were all designated as Deleted as well. She claimed that she had returned two of the three items through our Automated Materials Handler (AMH) some time ago. The items were set to lost in 2022. The third item she had and returned today. This item having been deleted shows up in Leap as a "no matching record" (NMR) item.   10. Currently, Floating's Load Balancing option can only be enabled at the System-Level in Polaris. I am on a shared Polaris server where one library system wants Load Balancing and one library system does not want it. This leaves us with not turning the feature on. It would be nice to allow Floating's Load Balancing option to be set at the Library-Level.

  11. I would like to be able to adjust auto-renewals at a Patron level in addition to the item level. This would help some of our patron's who may have difficulty understanding how renewals work. This may seem silly, but we have had some cognitively impaired patrons become severely confused and upset when they think they are "wasting renewal's". Being able to adjust these settings individually at the patron record portion would be extremely helpful. Excluding them from the auto-renewal notice is a band-aid, but this causes other confusing issues with the patrons as a result.

  12. In Picklist, when you click deny next to a checked INN-Reach item, it disappears from the picklist. If the item is being denied because it was not on the shelf, we need a way to mark it as missing but can't get back to it when it disappears.

    If we open the item record to change the status to missing and then return to picklist to check it and mark it missing, we get the attached error. Can you add another picklist view for items marked Denied so that staff have an easy way to do follow up? Thanks for…

  13. In a consortium setting or just a large, multi-branch, library system, the most efficient hold preference setting may not be the same for both sequences.

    We currently have to pick the hold preference setting that is necessary to meet our consortium’s policies in the secondary sequence, but is redundant in the primary sequence. It would improve patron experience and reduce unnecessary shipping if we could impose different settings for each of the sequences.

  14. Calls to a patron to notify them of books on hold can't be added to Polaris.

    It would be especially helpful if we could manually add notifications (even if we manually email a patron) and the appropriate reason/time into the notifications history. I've seen a "dated notes" suggestion here but don't feel these are the same.

  16. Patrons set up "saved search results" and can receive email notifications on a regular basis.

    Unfortunately the language within those emails are misleading for patrons where the top of the email says "New items of interest at your library" , the middle of the message "The following saved searches returned these new results", but then at the bottom of the email the message says "this search found no new results" (See pictures). When reaching out to customer support reps, they informed us this is hard coded and cannot be changed in sysadmin or language editor.

  17. Patrons don't have much options when paging through many pages of search results and have requested the ability to navigate through page numbers. As an example, if there are 100 page results, patrons can only go to next page, last page, first page or previous page. They want to be able to manually enter a page number (for example page 72) to go to that page of results. Switching to total results per page default from 10 to 100 doesn't help with a large number of results.

  18. I love the New Holds function in Leap. It makes it easy to place lots of holds for a customer in a single session when you know exact info and they are fine getting it later. With this feature though, you have no way to easily see WHERE copies of a title are or what their status is or details about WHAT you are placing a hold on. It would be great if there was a way to link to or preview bib info and item details (such as circ status and location) so you know if you even need…

  19. Adding the patron modification date and the name of the last modifier of a patron record would allow staff to narrow down when records were modified and by whom. The ability to track these changes would be particularly useful to Outreach staff who may need the statistical information about patron records they modified while working off site. Ideally, this addition should be added to the report outputs in SimplyReports and added to Leap as well so that public service staff can easily access this information.   20. It would be useful for administrators and reporting if item records were not physically deleted from the database. Maybe the introduction of an additional item record status that leaves the record in the database but excludes it from all aspects but reporting and administrator access?

    In our case we need to report periodically on item records being deleted.
