Transitioning claims returned to Lost after a set time and adding a bill
We would like to have to option for claims returned items to automatically go to Lost after a set time and adding bill to the patron.

This would take out the manual process of chasing up items that have been put to claims returned/never had.

For our libraries, when an item has been claimed returned, we essentially are giving the patron, and staff, more time to locate the item. If it is found, they check it in and it is removed from the patron's claimed section. We don't want these items sitting indefinitely. We would like the system to age these items to Lost and bill the patron after X amount of days. This would alleviate any extra steps staff would need to take in running reports and manually updating the record and item. But I agree it would be nice to have this a "turn on" or "off" feature in Admin and when on, set those limits within. Similar to how it worked in Sierra.

This is a critical workflow that is needed. We had this capability in our previous ILS and it made life much simpler.

We'd prefer to be able to automatically transition the item to MISSING.

Also, being able to manually convert lost items to claims returns would be helpful as well.

If implemented, please make this a setting in SA that can be turned on or off! We use Claims Returned as a 'you don't need to worry about this anymore' status for patrons and it would cause us a lot of problems if Claimed items began to automatically revert to Lost.
