Parent/responsible party information in registration
We would like an optional field for parent or guardian information in the registration form.
We don't require parents to have library cards if they only want their children to have cards, and we have instances where only children can qualify for free cards (school district vs county lines). It would be great to include a parent name, DOB, and DL# in the child's registration without using fields that prompt duplication notices.

Agree with Lynn. We also use a UDF for this as well as another UDF to track school enrollment - it's worked well for us (in fact, we have yet to use all 5 UDFs).
We are on 7.7 and the patron summary (when you hover/click on the "i" icon) displays the first UDF (both its name and contents) at the bottom. Not sure if this is a newer feature but maybe it would help?

We use one of the User-Defined Fields for Parent / Guardian but I can see the utility of having it be a separate field that's always available to display and thus freeing up a UDF for other purposes.
