This was my first pain point when we migrated to Polaris. This would make updates be a quick fix instead of someone's full day (week depending on your size) of repetitive work that is hard to track.

Being able to do this via bulk update would certainly help us feel more confident about moving to hosted at some point in the future - since we'd lose our SQL write access.

We're a cooperative so this would be hugely helpful when we have to make system-wide changes (like when we went fine-free for juvenile materials). We can bulk change all the item records, but if libraries aren't able to easily bulk change all their templates, then new items with the old settings keep getting generated and there's a long cleanup tail.
