In the 8.0 update, a change was made to shelf locations. Prior, if there was not a shelf location chosen, the column would show as blank on the check-in screen, with only active shelf locations populating, making them more noticeable and easier to recognize as an item needing to be housed in a specific spot such as a display space. Now, the word "None" populates in that field for all items- unless they are being routed to another location for a hold.
This change will make it harder for staff to recognize that items need to be shelved in a specific location- if there is always something populating in that field, it will not be acting as a prompt for staff, which is the intended purpose.
I understand that this was a function that people wanted, but it would be nice if that was a function that could be toggled, to let those who want the "None" option to have it, and those who want the blank field to have that as well.
